The multi-state crime wave of a Missouri couple likened to Bonnie and Clyde ended in the wee hours of Friday morning when police picked up their trail on a Florida highway and engaged them in a shootout that left Blake Fitzgerald dead.
Fitzgerald's female accomplice, Brittany Harper, was wounded after the pair led police on a chase from Escambia County into Santa Rosa County, according to AL.com. A shootout between the couple and authorities occurred around 1:30 a.m.
This is crazy! Can you believe it?
The paper reported the chase started late Thursday near Pensacola International Airport. The couple then led authorities on a foot chase near East Pensacola Heights. Just before 1 a.m., another car chase ensued as the couple crossed Pensacola
Given the magnitude of the chase, Pinellas Sheriff’s Department called off the pursuit on the grounds of General Order A-9, which required the discontinuance of certain caravan-type pursuits.
seriously wounded. Patty Valentine, a tenant who lived above the bar, looked out her window just after the shooting. She saw two black men leave in a white car.
Growing up in a small town you would never expect for a family to get murdered. Many people have the perception that in a small-town things, never happen. Well I’m sure that’s what Herbert and Bonnie Clutter thought to until the night of their death. Herbert and Bonnie Clutter lived in Holcomb, Kansas with their two kids Nancy and Kenyon on their family farm. The Clutter family was very respected within the community and in Garden City. Herbert was also a very respected employer. The Clutter family lived a very disciplined but still enjoyable and well provided for.
When the officers made it to an alley, they were met by another Latino gang member who fired at Taylor and Zavala, hitting Taylor once in the chest before being shot and killed by Zavala. Zavala went to aid Taylor, who appeared to be quickly dying, and called out for help. Before police back up arrived, the original Latino gang members found Zavala in the alley kneeling over Taylor and before he could reach for his gun, the gang members fired many rounds into Zavala’s back who slumped over, dead.... ... middle of paper ... ...
On Friday April 24th J.P. Walker, Preacher Lee, Crip Reyer and L.C. Davis got into Reyer’s Oldsmobile and they took off on a mission to kill Mark Charles Parker. (3 other cars of men followed) They went to the courthouse/jail in Poplarville and they could not get in. So they went to Jewel Alford’s House (The jail keeper) to get the keys to the Jail. Alford went with the four men to the courthouse. When he got there he went in and down the hall to Sheriff Moody’s office and got the keys to the jail. He opened the door to the jail and Lee, Reyer, Davis, Walker followed Alford into the jail. Alford then opened Parkers cell and Lee and Davis pulled Parker out of the jail and courthouse to the Reyer's Oldsmobile. Alford then left and the men got into the car.
The story made the 11 o’clock news only minutes later. after her father had gone to bed. When police ran a background check on the two suspected men, Joseph Michael Davis and Douglas. Walker, both men, had recently been released on parole with multiple. offenses on their records.
Bonnie and Clyde Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker burst upon the American Southwest in the Great Depression year of 1932. At the time of Clyde’s first involvement in a murder, people paid little attention to the event. He was just another violent hoodlum in a nation with a growing list of brutal criminals, which included Al Capone, John Dillenger, Pretty Boy Floyd, and the Barker Gang. Not until Bonnie and Clyde joined forces did the public become intrigued. The phrase “Bonnie and Clyde'; took on an electrifying and exotic meaning that has abated little in the past sixty years.
On the run leaving stores and banks empty and the police right on their tail. This is how possibly the most well known crime duo lived in the 1930’s. Going town to town and business to business looking to find their next big score. All with the cops always being one step behind and struggling to figure out the duo’s next move. This is the rough and interesting life of Bonnie and Clyde and the barrow gang.
There are multiple crime television shows that are based on a true story or fiction. A well known television show is Law and Order Special Victims Unit, which deals with rape and assault cases. This particular episode deals with a domestic violence case between a retired football star, AJ Martin, and his girlfriend, Paula Bryant. I will be using the National Crime Victimization Survey, which is an interview with the members in a household about reported and unreported crime that occurred within the last six months. “NVCS provides information of characteristics of victims, including age, race, ethnicity, gender, marital status and household income” (Truman and Morgan). Official statistics like the NCVS would be used for comparing its demographics
All across the nation during the Great Depression people were jobless, homeless, and starving; nowhere was this truer than in the American Midwest. Not only did the farms and cities of the Midwest have to deal with the poor economic conditions but the Midwest's main source of income, agriculture, was being ravaged by the natural phenomenon now called the Dust Bowl. On top of low crop prices and a lack of employment farmland was ruined, went unplanted, and was often foreclosed on. These extra difficulties left the inhabitants of the Midwest with added resentments and frustration with businesses and government that seemed unable or unwilling to help. Out of this extreme hardship came a group of people who for many different reasons chose to make their own rules and live outside the law. These gangsters' exploits seemed to have been focused in Middle America from as far as Minnesota and Wisconsin to Texas and Louisiana. The Midwestern crime wave, which captivated a disenchanted public, involved brazen but personable gangsters who shot and robbed their way across country.
New Orleans like most metropolitan cities has a significant problem with crime. This problem did not just begin with Katrina, since then, the problem seems to have increased tremendously. New Orleans may not lead the nation with the highest murder rates, but the city is definitely in the top 10. Many crimes appear to be drug related although other crimes that contributes to these high rates include rape, armed robbery, and aggravated assault. Being brought up in a poor environment is also a factor that can contribute to an individual living a life of crime. Realizing that not all poor people are criminals, this environment can lead someone to take drastic measures in order to survive. No one wants to live in a place where crime is taking over.
According to Rachel Boba, “Crime analysis is a law enforcement function that involves systematic analysis for identifying and analyzing patterns and trends in crime and disorder” (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime analysis). The information on these patterns can assist law enforcement agencies in the deployment of resources in a more effective manner; it can also help detectives to identify and catch suspects. Crime analysis also plays a role in improvising solutions to crime problems, and developing crime prevention strategies. There are various types of technology that is used in crime analysis. Crime analysis relies heavily on computer technology, and over the past fifteen years there has been a significant improvement in computer hardware and software that has led to tremendous developments in this field. One form of hardware that is used by Crime analysts to complete most of their work is Desktop personal computers, laptop computers are also used by crime analysts for fieldwork and presentations. Other forms of hardware that are used include color laser printers that can produce high-quality documents quickly, plotters which are printers that can produce large poster size color maps, scanners, and digital cameras, these specific types of hardware is mostly used by police departments when analyzing crime.
Between the closest cities to New York, the city of new York falls on the highest city with crime rate, followed by New Jersey with a crime rate of 331.1. Cliffside park has the least crime rate with 83.2.
In this crime news analysis I will be focusing on the right wing tabloid newspaper ‘The Sun’ and the left wing broadsheet ‘The Guardian.’ I will be analysing the article of the student riots in both newspapers, and seeing whether there are similarities or differences in the way in which the event is presented. The incident occurred when a demonstration against higher tuitions fees got out of hand whereby some protesters used violent tactics to voice their opinions.
I do believe the government must take steps to remove small children from gang infested neighborhoods, and has an obligation to reduce the chances of them becoming victims; due to violence or long-term exposure to violence. “The word victim has been used to describe essentially any person subjected to injurious circumstance beyond their control or provocation” (Harmening, 2014, Pg 141). According to this definition, victims’ circumstances are beyond their control, an example of this is rape. Rape is define as a sexual assault against the victims will or control, when they do not want the act to occurred against them. Government must take a serious look at gang infested neighborhoods, because long-term exposure to violence can lead to rape trauma
