As we know in the world of politics it is constantly undergoing some issues and problems which are concerning not only to one country. When I first came to the United States, the first thing I was shocked about was the local news. As we know, people who move to a new country always compare the new with the old. And what I want to say is that American news doesn't always show and it sometimes hides the truth about what is happening outside of the country. In Russia, people are talking at each corner about the difficult situation prevailing in Germany, and in the United States not many people know what is going on there. Personally, I find out about problems in Germany from my family in Russia, who were really surprised that I did not know what …show more content…
As you said in the class, sometimes students can solve the biggest governmental problems for 15 minutes, so I tried to solve this problem with immigrants by myself. If I would have influence on the government, the first thing I would do is never start military operations in Libya and Iraq and in other Middle East counties. But since this process has already started, just let it be another page from the history and example of a huge mistake from which the people are learning. The crisis of migrants in the eyes turns into a pan-European political crisis. Nor to feed the growing number of unemployed workers, nor really rigidly to stop attempts of their penetration today Europe is not ready, but would personally closed all borders for refugees or at least check their background for any terrorism or other bad stuff. Equal distribution of refugees across Europe and United Sates seems like also a good idea, because then, for the small countries of Europe would be much easier to find the housing for them, but unfortunately, it is unlikely going ever happen because America has also too many “problems” with illegal immigrants from Mexico. So, let's just hope that Europe will find a way out of this difficult situation, and Germany will again become a burgeoning noble
When I was 13, my family bought a farm in Monkey's Elbow, Kentucky. I had been use to the fast pace of the city I had lived in , Frankfort. I had thought transitioning from a city to more of a rural area wouldn’t have a big affect on me, but it did, a major one. In the late summer of 2012 my family bought the farm i now live on located along highway 146. The trips between our houses were unbearable. Lasting around three hours each from the farm to Frankfort several times a day.
“You are in America, speak English.” As a young child hearing these words, it did not only confuse me but it also made me question my belonging in a foreign country. As a child I struggled with my self-image; Not being Hispanic enough because of my physical appearance and not being welcomed enough in the community I have tried so hard to integrate myself with. Being an immigrant with immigrant parents forces you to view life differently. It drives you to work harder or to change the status quo for the preconceived notion someone else created on a mass of people. Coming to America filled me with anxiety, excitement, and even an unexpected wave of fear.
present because they had to stay in Mexico. The truth is that I knew my uncles, since I would see them at family reunions every now and then, but I never
Many people have no interest in current events in the world or even their own country, and are more concerned about matters that are more trivial, and even if they were to pay a deal of attention, common news sources are often biased and don’t release information that would hurt a certain cause. It is in this way that the citizens are kept igno...
Without a doubt, the European continent has been through a lot over the last few decades. From World War 2, to the iron grip of Soviet Russia on half of the continent, many problems have arisen and been dealt with. Unfortunately, Europe has had a rough few years when it comes to the somewhat newer issue of immigration and immigrant groups. While some countries have managed immigration better than others, nations such as France and Italy have had their fair share of problems and continue to pass legislation that is flawed and draws criticism from other countries. The issue has gotten better in recent years, and various European countries have made great progress towards their immigration policies. In addition, various ethnic groups have been the target of government profiling and discrimination. Most notably the Romani people, who have faced discrimination for hundreds of years and continue to do so at the hands of various Eastern and Western European governments. The many setbacks and gains towards immigration are more clearly visible when looked at on a case-by-case basis, such as the individual policies of Italy, France, and the European Union as a whole.
Have you ever had to move to another state? If you have move to another state, I know how you feel. You might had have friends that you were really close to, but then it turns out that you have to leave them because your parents got a new job or something else happened. Well let me tell you my experience, based on why I had to move.
Seven years ago, I moved to United States. Like anyone who had welcomed changes in their life, I had a hard time dealing with my new situation. It’s very difficult to fit in. In my homeland, life is harsh with the great gap of poor and rich, but my family got everything. Our lives were plentiful. We were not prepared to face the changes and challenges in the United States. My mother didn’t know how to get a job or how my two older sisters would get into college. It was not the same life we had in the Philippines. We left our homeland while my two older sisters were college students. My parents didn’t know how to help them to pursue their future here so my parents decided to let my sisters return home to finish their education. As they graduated with degrees and awards, the truth is, I sincerely respect and admire my sisters dearly, but I don’t want to end up like my sisters who finished college with so numerous awards and can’t get the job she wants because her degree is from another country.
The immigration debate has challenged all nations with no exceptions since its founding. Hundreds of thousands of people around the world are nowadays immigrants, some of which are legally settled while other are simply not. People tend to migrate from poor countries to the developed ones, holding hopes, dreaming of brighter future, and bringing their own cultures with them. Those people choose to live abroad from where they were born. Not to mention that wars and bad governments can result in the increasing number of immigrants, but the main reason of this issue is that immigration will never stop as long as one country has a better place for living, that being said, it is governments’ responsibility to allow and regulate immigration for many
Current events and politics are considerably very important to us as citizens of the United States. It is very important for Americans to know what is going on around them, even students at the high school age. If you don’t know what is going on around the world or even locally, you may be lacking knowledge that could benefit you.
It was a beautiful, sunny day in South Florida. I was six years old, playing by the pool with my new puppy. I loved swimming in the pool almost every day after school. I also enjoyed going out on our boat after school or crossing the street and going to the beach. My father came home one evening with some interesting news. Now, I do not remember exactly how I felt about the news at that time, but it seemed like I did not mind that much. He had announced that we were going to move back to my birth country, Belgium. I had been living in Florida for five years and it was basically all I had known so I did not know what to expect. I had to live with my mom at first, and then my sister would join us after she graduated high school and my father finished settling things. I remember most of my earlier childhood by watching some old videos of me playing by the pool and dancing in the living room. It seemed like life could not get any better. However, I was excited and impatient to experience a new lifestyle. I realized that I could start a whole new life, make new friends and learn a new language. Belgium was not as sunny as South Florida but it has much better food and family oriented activities. Geographic mobility can have many positive effects on younger children, such as learning new languages, being more outgoing, and more family oriented; therefore, parents should not be afraid to move around and experience new cultures.
Have you ever thought about how much would change in your life if you had to move to a different country? Chris, from the video, experiences a completely different life style in India. However, the two sisters experience a different life style in America. Although there are many differences in American and Indian culture, there are some similarities.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, Europe tore down its borders. Today, a flood of refugees fleeing from Asylum in the Middle East and Africa, causing conflict and poverty. Europe experience the largest influx of refugees in the last summer, totaling to 1.26 million refugees that fled from their countries and sought asylum. The most refugees come from Syria because of constant civil wars against their dictator and the people and the chaos of ISIS have caused over 4 million to leave their land of birth. To manage the surge of refugees fleeing from their countries to European countries like Germany and Sweden they implemented border controls. Hungary, Slovenia and Macedonia all blockaded their countries by constructing fences around
I get more news about the USA from foreign media sites than I could from domestic channels. When you think about it, that is pretty disturbing. Not reporting the news is as bad as false reporting... It creates an atmosphere of "Information Dominance" which is not in the best interest of the citizenry. It results in the dumbing-down of the populace.
As German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated, “If Europe fails on the question of refugees, then it won’t be the Europe we wished for”. The Washington Post and the BBC News both wrote articles focused on the refugee crisis, but they both differ on how they approach the subject. The Washington Post’s article focused on five possible solutions to the refugee crisis, and the pros and cons of each possible solution. These solutions included doing nothing, establishing quotas for each country for the amount of refugees they must accept, taking military action against human traffickers, resettling refugees directly from and around Syria, and final solution bringing peace to Syria, Afghanistan, and the other surrounding states.
