Movie Review of The Fisher King
Jack, a cynical Manhattan disc jockey plunges into a
suicidal depression when one of his outrageous comments
inspires a crazed listener to shoot seven people in a
fashionable nightspot. Redemption comes in the form of a
derelict, ex-history professor named Parry whose wife was one
of those killed by the sniper. Parry heads a gang of loony
homeless people in the search for what he believes to be the
Holy Grail. Jack helps Parry in his quest and in the process
finds what he had been looking for, too.
Hero’s Journey
The movies main two characters Jack and Parry go
through the hero’s journey of departure, fulfillment, and
return. Parry brought Jack in to his subconscious world of red
knights and midget people, and freewill. The two men departed
in to the real world in search of their identity and to save their
sanity. Parry’s fulfillment was when he was in the hospital
after having been beat up. He went in to a non-responsive
coma of sorrow. Jack, then went and stole the Holy grail that
Parry had continuously asked him to retrieve and brought it to
Parry which helped him concur the dark, pain and sorrow that
lay with in him from the tragic death of his wife. He returned
from his journey a new free spirited man.
Parry’s journey relates a lot to the myth “ The Briar
Roses”. Parry is in a deep sleep and can only be woken when
the Holy Grail is retrieved and given to him. Kind of like how
the sleeping beauty can only be woken from her sleep by a
kiss. While in his deep sleep he is concurring his depressing
and sorrow of the death of his wife. As did the sleeping beauty
mature in to a women....

...ck met and helped another bum who was a friend of
Parry’s. Later on in the movie when it looks like he has his life
of fame back and he is once again on the radio, he sees this
man in trouble and he turns his back on him like he does not
know who he is. In the beginning of the movie Jack values
money, and fame, and alcohol. Later in the movie he learns to
value friends, relationships, love, and life. He learns to love
gain when he gets back together with Anne, and Parry teaches
him to appreciate friends.
All the issues in the film were resolved. Jack returned to
radio after a time of trying to find out who he was , which he
succeeded in doing with the help of Parry. Parry finally put to
rest his past darkness and sorrow and found someone to
share his life with. I thougth it was a good movie and give it 3
stars.
The Seven Five is a documentary that frivolously reexamines the crimes of Officer Michael Dowd and his team of dirty cops. Dowd is a former New York police officer who was stationed in the 75th Precinct in Eastern New York. The film presents the nefarious deeds of these officers via original interviews with Dowd and his former comrades as they recount their crimes and explain the reasoning behind their unethical behaviors. While working as a cop, he embellished his income through criminal exploits which include stealing guns, drugs, money, and eventually he began working in drug rings selling cocaine. Dowd’s felonious activities were extremely lucrative and earned him approximately $4,000 a week. Dowd was eventually arrested in 1992,
The captivity of large, wild animals is accepted for theme parks all around the world. Tickets are sold for people to come and watch these animals live and even preform in an exhibit that almost resembles their natural environment. It is impossible for parks and zoos that use animals as attractions to provide the same resources and space they would have in the habitat they are usually found in. They can, however, help injured or ill animals that cannot survive in the wild. This is where I believe they should draw the line for keeping animals in captivity. SeaWorld has gotten a lot of attention in the last few years, especially since the Netflix documentary, Blackfish, was released. This film targets the company for the mistreatment of their orca whales. In particular, it told the story of one named Tilikum and shows the problems he and the other orca whales face while living under the care of SeaWorld. Gabriela Cowperthwaite, the director

Schindler's List, by Steven Spielberg is an award-winning masterpiece - a movie which portrays the shocking and nightmarish holocaust in a three-hour long epic. The documentary touch re-creates a dark, frightening period during World War II, when Jews in Nazi-occupied Krakow were first deprived off , of their businesses and homes, then placed in ghettos and were then forced to labor for no consideration in camps in Plaszow, and finally they were resettled in concentration camps for execution. The violence and brutality of Nazi’s treatment towards Jews is a series of horrific incidents that are brilliantly showcased.
Into the Wild, a novel written by Jon Krakauer, as well as a film directed by Sean Penn, talks about Chris McCandless, a young individual who set out on a journey throughout the Western United States, isolating himself from society, and more importantly, his family. During his travels, he meets a lot of different people, that in a way, change his ways about how he sees the world. There are many characteristics to describe McCandless, such as “naïve”, “adventurous”, and “independent”. In the book, Krakauer described McCandless as “intelligent”, using parts in his book that show McCandless being “intelligent”. While Krakauer thinks of McCandless as being “intelligent”, Penn thinks of McCandless as a more “saintly” type of person.

The film Jesus of Montreal is interesting story of a group of actors that are cast to perform an updated version of Jesus' life. The way that the cast comes together and the environment in which they perform have a strikingly similar resemblance to Jesus' life here on earth as reporter in the New Testament. This is especially true of the main character, Daniel Columbe, who seeks to alleviate all actors in Montreal from being mistreated and overlooked by standing up to the challenges presented by the church and the corrupters of the industry.
...r, this movie is lack of depth of storyline. The audiences can even predict what will happen in the next scenes. Moreover, the ending of this movie is too cheesy and irrational according to me. If only they change the ending to become more interesting and rational, I will give a four or five stars out of five. In spite of a lame twist ending, this movie is a perfect example to show that managers should be able to motivate and challenge their employee. It is important to remember that a happy employee means a productive employee.

The movie entitled “An Inconvenient Truth” is based on a cosmopolitan problem about global warming. Mr. Al Gore uses a lot of catastrophic videos to remind us the harm and damage of global warming. At the end of the movie, he illustrates some misconceptions and appeals to everyone to pay more attention to the current environment phenomenon. He thinks everyone has responsibility to protect our planet.

While watching the Pixar movie Inside Out with my little neighbor a few weekends ago I noticed that there were some suggestive scenes that fit into the Communications 270 course. The theme being gender in the media. Inside Out is about a girl named Riley who starts off as a happy and adventurous person. Everything seems to be going great in her life because of her inner emotion named Joy played by Amy Poehler. However, Riley’s mood becomes sour when she finds out that she is moving far away from her current home. The stress of moving causes Riley so much mental anguish that her emotions (characters) of Joy and Sadness are swept off into a deep dark place. All that is left inside her head is the emotions
