Braaaaaap! Braaaaaaap! Ricky Charmichael takes the lead! He made the pass in the air over the 80 foot triple. Something that I love to do more than anything in the world is motocross. Motocross is racing over rough ground on specially strengthened motorcycles.
First, riding motocross is a difficult sport. It takes a lot of practice and endurance. You have to be in shape to do this. Motocross can be scary, but the feeling it gives you is the best. There is more than one type of motocross: Freestyle and Supercross are the two most common types.
In freestyle the objective is to jump as high as you can and stay in the air as long as you can. You need to be confident and willing to give it your all. You cannot be scared. While in the air you must perform a trick. More than one trick...
AMA super cross has been around for a very long time. Since the early 1970s when the first race was in the super bowl and it was called super bowl motocross but then came the term and the start of supercross. In supercross these were tight cornering tracks with big jumps rhythm sections, and woops sections. The bikes that were first ever ran on these tracks were 2 stroke meaning they are high rpm bikes which of the time were the fastest bikes around of this time but there were a lot of issues with the bike which I will explain. Supercross has changed over time the bikes the tracks and the pace of the race.
Some race fans would love to have an opportunity to be a part of a race team. If you receive a great opportunity to do a job you have been dreaming about, then you should take the opportunity. If you don’t take the opportunity that you received, then you don’t know if you will ever see that same opportunity. 22 year old Cody Higginbotham has been receiving many great opportunities since he was 12 years old.
Nascar…. When you think of moonshine you think of the hillbillies in overalls fireing up grand daddys still in the b ack forty. It may come to a shock to you when you learn that nascars the billion dollor enterprise with 100,000 cars that are engineered to be as fast as they can be. Its hard to belive it all started from shine runners. During the great depression millions of gallons of shine were in need of distribution. This is where the ridge runners came into play. The shiners needed a way to get there shine from the stills to the stash houses…. The cops at the time had stock cars and if you could out run them then you wre free. You can only get in trouble if you are caught in the act….. the backwoods shiners started to build cars that would out run the cops. This was the beginning of nascar…..
Barrel racing is categorized under the sport of rodeo and is most likely to be associated with the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association and the National Barrel Horse Association. The sport of rodeo also includes bull riding, team roping, and tie down roping and can be mostly associated with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Even though the sport of rodeo in mainly dominated by men, barrel racing is the biggest outlet for women to show their skills in such a male dominated sport.
Finally, the Nile influenced spiritual beliefs. Egyptians believed that the Nile would provide for them even in the afterlife (Doc D). The Nile was reflected in bottom panel of the tomb painting like the one of paradise called Field of Reeds. If it did not exist, there would be nothing to draw in the paintings – no water, the crops, no people, the boat rides. Egyptians sang hymn of praise and thanks to the Nile (Doc E). The hymn shows that Egyptians worshipped the river and believed it had the power to bring happiness or sorrow. The people knew that there was a strong connection between the river and their
Moonshining is the stuff of legends – from NASCAR greats to the Dukes of Hazzard, from Elliot Ness and Al Capone to bathtub gin and homebrew, stories of Grandpa’s backyard still are still told today. While the truth is often unknown, the stories of moonshine have some kernels of truth at their heart. Though we think of it often in connection with Depression Era Cheep Liqour” the truth is that modern moonshine is experiencing a renaissance – more and more people are interested and experimenting today, and retailers know it.
Finally, the Nile provided Egypt with a multiplicity of religious beliefs. For example, the rise and fall of the water level led the Egyptians to witness the cycles of birth, death, and re-birth. They believed that the gods controlled the Nile, so this led the river to becoming one of the many things they worshipped. The god of the Nile was known as “Hapi” and the Egyptians thought he provided them with water and fertilization. Furthermore, the belief of an afterlife came from the Nile. They believed that after death they would ride an “underneath” version of the Nile to their afterlife. The river not only impacted people on a physical level, but on a personal level.
But there are also things that are very scary. There is always that small possibility of getting hurt in whatever you do but in Endurocross the possibility is a little larger. You can lose control in mid jump and crash hard which causes some to be knocked unconscious, you could end up in a pile up, or your bike could simply just stop working and someone hits you. Most of the time place the most exciting things happen toward the end of the race when two racers are going head to head trying to
Throughout sports history in America, minorities have had a sever disadvantage to succeeding. While the country has come a long way in integrating capable athletes in professional sports, there are several sports that have a white dominance. One rarely sees a minority on the swimming team. Caucasians dominate the golf and hockey leagues as well. One of the most prominent sports that is working on overcoming their racial barrier is gymnastics. Gymnastics is a white dominant sport, not only in America but around Europe as well. Ever since Dianne Durham was first African American to start competing on an elite level in the 1980s, there have only been a handful of black gymnasts recognised on the national level. It took until 1996 for a black gymnast to win a gold medal at the Olympics. Dominique Dawes competed in Atlanta and made history for being the first black person of any nationality to win a gold medal in gymnastics. While gymnastics has made progress including African Americans, they still have prejudices to overcome.
The Nile helped make a system of the Egyptians to follow, flood season (Akhet) was Mid-June to Mid October, planting and growing season (Peret) Mid-October to Mid-February, and harvest season Mid-February to Mid June. Like I mentioned in the first paragraph the Egyptians believed in the fertile land as land of life and the red land as land of danger, to them the Nile literally means the difference between life and death. It was very important that they payed taxes if they did not then the civilization would fall apart since the pharaoh used most of the taxes to keep the civilization together and running(Doc
Over the past few centuries, and still today, the Nile is a gift to the people of Egypt; it provides everything necessary for them to live their everyday lives economically, socially and religiously. The people in Egypt have relied on the Nile for as long as it has been there. They use the Nile for everything including protection, food, and the way to the afterlife.
Formula One Racing Formula One racing, or F1, is known to be the most prestigious type of auto racing in the world. Unfortunately, in the United States F1 racing is not nearly as popular as other motorsports such as Nascar. On a typical Sunday afternoon if one were to flip channels on the television, Nascar would most likely be airing on a major station. Furthermore, if one were to watch the race he
Many people in America work at jobs where they are separated from Nature and other people, sectioned off in cublicles, plugged into a machine, doing work which neither challenges their intellect nor is fulfilling personally. As a result, a separation forms not only between others and from Nature itself, but from themselves, and their purpose in life. A feeling develops that are not living life to the fullest. Much of our interaction these days is "virtual interaction", taking place between us and a screen. We are capable of doing just about anything virtually: shopping, sex, even skiing. Our lack of contact with genuine, hands on experience, however, leaves a nagging feeling of unsatisfaction with the lack of physical control that we possess over our lives, and a fear that life is slipping away, untouched. Extreme sports are an extreme reaction to this dillema - they put one as close to Nature as possible, literally flush with the forces, be it gravitational or otherwise. The urge to push oneself against nature is similar to one of those "every action has an equal and opposite reaction" equations. These sports put one "up against the line", so to speak, testing our will to survive and forcing a connection with nature, with ourselves. There is a paradox here: in placing our life in the hands of natural forces, we take back responsibility and regain control, in a sense, over our existence. We are making a conscious choice to place our lives at risk, and thus taking on the ultimate responsibility, in a sense. Nature may be acting in opposition against us, but, the goal, according to Michael Bane, author of Over the Edge: a regular guy's odessey in Extreme Sports, is really to be i...
In freestyle aerial skiing the goal is to get high in the air off of a two to four-meter jump and do plenty of flips and tricks. They “play” this sport by going fast on their skis and then onto a two to four-meter jump, which then the “players” can go up to twenty feet higher than the landing area, which helps them perform more tricks. Doing
