I am writing this motivation letter to express my interest in the master’s program in Computational Materials Science in your esteemed University.
I have always been fascinated by the unknown and the extraordinary. I have never believed in taking the beaten path or the easy way out. As a kid, I would break open the numerous toys which I had and tried figuring out how they would work. This interest continued as I grew, everywhere I went, I tried understanding the working behind some everyday things, which has become a habit. And I was very fascinated by what I saw. It was this fascination that gave birth to my inquisitiveness about materials and machines.
The design, use of materials and mechanisms intrigued me and this led me to take up my Bachelor’s program in Mechanical Engineering at the JSS AC...

... which do not dedicate so much time. In another 5 years down the line, I see myself as a devoted researcher, working on complex multiscale models to be able to solve and work with more number of frameworks and techniques and to couple them at different length scales.
Technical University of Bergakademie Freiberg’s course of Computational Materials Science combines the essence of studying engineering sciences, about materials and its applications, which is precisely what I want to be doing!
I am a diligent, hardworking and a resourceful individual with a penchant for research. I thank you for considering my application, and sincerely hope that my qualification and experience render me eligible for the Masters’ Programme at your esteemed University. I keenly look forward to being a part of TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
Sunil Gopalakrishna
I’m an electrical engineer who created the first kind of computer memory without the need for mechanical parts. After that, I started my company, Wang Labs, and I became an entrepreneur in word processors and desktop calculators, both of which were very new at the time. If you didn't know, word processors were primitive computers that could only be used to write. I liked math and science, and was very proficient at them when I was in grade school and barely bothered with the other classes. I even skipped them sometimes, but I always got an A on the exams, which got me through with higher grades.
The Brazosport College Career Fair has definitely inspired me to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. Before I attended this Career Fair I already had my mindset on pursuing an engineering degree, but this learning experience has closed the deal.

After working non-stop for seven years, I value academics a lot more today than I did as a student. The biggest motivation for my application is a genuine interest to learn the studies offered by TU Bergakademie Freiberg. I like taking initiatives and foresee myself as a pro-active student, prepared to ask questions and also put in the hard work necessary, not just to excel in academic, but to make the most of what is offered by the program.

... advanced computing, with specific reference to Computer Programming. I therefore believe that I must return to the academic world for further growth and achieve some more milestones.
One of the memories of my childhood I deeply cherish is that of my first visit to my father's small scale factory.Exploring the machinery which made my goal more easier and my dad sharing his experiences about the working of machines made me to grew up grossing my interest towards them. That was the time i chose to get into the field of mechanical. As a child, I was always intrigued by the working of complex mechanisms and equipment. I used to spend a lot of time trying to explore and figure out their principle. In school
In conclusion, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for enabling me to express myself. I would be very thankful if I am offered an admission in your esteemed university.
Completing high school education from an illustrious junior college, my academic accomplishments at school earned me admission in Sri Sairam Engineering College, Chennai. Ranked 3rd in the southern region of India by Outlook and The Week, and is affiliated to prestigious Anna University. I am pursuing my bachelors in Production Engineering. I have a commodious curriculum which enunciates on latest manufacturing techniques, production management until my junior year. In my senior year, I have electives like Operation's research, Ergonomics. This opened the gates to the field of Industrial engineering and that moment, I realized that manufacturing alone is not the crux of an Industry but there are many other segments, which have to be given equal importance for the amelioration of the Industry, which made me decide to augment my knowledge to these areas rather than merely focusing on manufacturing.
I have spent so much time learning about design through the paradigm of materials but now I want to connect mechanical aspects to the knowledge I have already gained. I am particularly interested in the research done by Dr. Drew Nelson, Dr. Sheri Sheppard and Dr. Friedrich Prinz whose work most closely fits my interests. I am interested in doing research in mechanical design as influenced by material usage. I am also looking forward to taking courses such as Imperfections in Crystalline Solids, The Magic of Materials and Manufacturing, and Nanomaterials Synthesis and Applications for Mechanical Engineers to explore topics I have already studied, but from a mechanical engineering perspective. Stanford’s combination of rigor and creativity appeal to me. I have always enjoyed a challenge and get great satisfaction from expanding my knowledge. Coming from a Materials Science and Engineering background where I have performed well, both in academics and leadership, I know I can be an asset to and learn from the world-class Mechanical Engineering program at
I am confident that given a chance, I will prove my caliber and render myself worthy for your university. I would therefore be very thankful if I am offered a beneficial association with your esteemed university. Finally, I take this opportunity to thank you for enabling me to express myself and I eagerly look forward to being part of your prestigious University.
When I look at how mankind has evolved over years, it amazes me. My career goal is to become a mechanical engineer. I aspire to become skilled enough to create mechanics, which will improve people’s lives. I come from a very hardworking family. As the first son,a lot is expected from me to set good examples for my younger brothers.
... of Ottawa has the right program for motivated engineers to hone and enhance their skills and become leaders of tomorrow. I have strong interests in the fields of Manufacturing Systems, CAD/CAM, Product Design and Development, Production Planning Scheduling and Control, Optimization and Operational Research. Urge to learn more in these fields encourages me to opt for Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering at your prestigious university.
I am very glad to apply for admission in the Master Degree in international business and export management offered at your University (IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems). My interest in business management arose early soon after Graduation when I was on a hunt for a job in field of sales and marketing in a multinational pharmaceutical company soon after graduation in 2007.
But I did have an interest in materials. However, mechanical engineering is a very broad field. Mechanical engineering has an area of specialization referred to as “Materials and Manufacturing” [4] It doesn’t focus so heavily on material development and design so much as material selection and the methods of manufacturing parts using those materials. For example, “How do you mass produce carbon fiber parts?” would be a problem that a mechanical engineer of this specialization might set out to solve. At this point I had also had some exposure to electrical engineering, through a Snap Electronics kit and obtaining my Amateur Radio License. Mechanical engineers do take some electrical engineering classes. This gives mechanical engineers an understanding of electrical control systems and electric motors [5], both of which play important roles in machinery
