My internship is at Moro Performance (MP) in Mequon, Wisconsin. Moro Performance is a cross fit/high performance sports gym. They train some athletes from Concordia University Wisconsin and are looking to get into training for local high school athletes. They have several classes you can take, boot camp and cross fit. Boot camp is the class they require new members to take in order to prove they know what they are doing enough to do cross fit. The cross fit class goes all out on all the work outs for the cross fit games. Moro Performance has a very young history, they opened in June of 2015 and are gaining clients at a decent rate. Anthony Moro and Lisa Wishmann are co-owners and personal trainers. They are also the only two full time employees as of right now. I work mainly under Anthony on planning events and marketing in the area. Duties and Responsibilities …show more content…
Because Moro Performance is such a new company I am not strictly working on one job. So far I have been opening and closing various days and my main projects for the internship have been researching local neighborhoods to market to them specifically and planning an Easter work out so that it is a fun event, but at the same time we are working out and becoming healthier people. My supervisor is Anthony Moro and he is a co-owner and also a personal trainer for Moro Performance. After being diagnosed with MS he could no longer be an active Marine so his next dream was to own a gym. It took several years of planning and looking for backers for the gym, because I remember him talking about opening MP when I was still at Concordia several years
For this project, the certified athletic trainer who I have shadowed for almost eight hours in just one day is Candace O'Bryan, currently the athletic trainer at Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron. Candace has worked at Hoban now entering her third year at the high school. She works alone as a trainer there but works along side one team doctor who is at every game, and the other one being a neurosurgeon but is just a parent helping out.
My internship began with a short orientation of KPMG’s office located in the Wells Fargo Building of downtown Minneapolis. After some introductions and a few training sessions that outlined what was expected of us in terms of the rules and laws we were required to follow including disclosure of client and firm information and independence affidavits, for example, we were briefed on our trip to Orlando for National Internship Training which would take place the following work day. Training for Partnership-focused federal tax interns would last a whole week filled with events and educational seminars that would introduce us to tax fundamentals and software tutorials that would be helpful during our time with KPMG. National Internship Training would be the primary training session for every KPMG intern in the nation, hosting thousands of interns assigned to all pillars of accounting (audit, tax, and advisory). During meals and events the interns had opportunities to meet interns from around the country helping to expand our professional and social networks, which I found to be one ...
At my internship, my supervisor in working the cameras at WICU has not exemplified the same managerial style and qualities as Cappy Ricks. He’s just not that mean, in the sense of sending me out on a bogus story or on a wild goose chase. But he does have confidence in me to shoot what I think is appropriate. His confidence in me does work, because if he would always shoot a story or scene, then how could I learn. I’m not really sure if I’m beneficial to the station because I am only an intern. But there is a little over a month left, so maybe in time I’ll be beneficial to the station.
On May 25th 2016 I officially started an internship with Montgomery County’s Department of Mental Hygiene. The department consists of one hard working woman named Sara Borenko who was my supervisor and boss throughout this internship. One of the main duties of Sara’s job is the funding of community programs that are aimed towards helping the mental health community. In fall 2015 I took a class called Community Psychology and while working at this internship; I applied what I had learned from that class and used it to my advantage. Some of the lessons I applied included social oppression, community organizing, stress and coping, and emotional support. Before taking this internship, I didn’t realize how much my county had to offer as for services. I’m inspired by the community and its strides towards helping the mentally ill. I’ve learned a lot during this internship. I’ve gained experience in the field, I’ve grown a broader
Thank you for your email. Preparation for my first MCAT was juggled with working as an EMT for Rutgers Emergency Services. During that time I was able to budget for an extended Christmas break (6 weeks of limited work to study), but with the knowledge that I'd have to pick up extra shifts before and after the break to make sure I was able to make rent and pay for other necessities. I had planned to take this MCAT during my senior year, knowing that I’d take a gap year to attend graduate school. While I was disappointed with my first score, it was not until my acceptance into Oxford that I decided to try another time. Oxford’s semester started in October, while other graduate programs started in August – allowing for a September MCAT date. For this

Mr. Gross elaborated on his company’s main mission and values. He said RJG Fitness is a goal-oriented organization that is designed to help clients achieve their goals through exercise and athletic training. His company uses goals that may seem insurmountable and minimizes them into small achievable goals. This results in invoking confidence and inspiration towards reaching their ultimate goal. His company put clients first so that they see results both physically and mentally. Personal training involves determination and consistency and these are vital characteristics that his company works at with clients.
What is surprising about experience is that it is not as brutal as I imagined it to be. I thought it would be a place for a lot of super experienced athletes that work at very high intensities at all times but I was surprised to see that the programs are designed and modified for all kinds of people. I have realized that Crossfit is a place to go for those individuals that have no experience in sports and exercise. A lot of people that lack knowledge of how to train particular muscle groups or even train for a desired outcome, usually get injured due to lack of proper professional guidance. At Crossfit Bezel, Mr. Shaffer is a highly skilled and experienced strength and conditioning coach that provides proper exercise education to the members
After being honorably discharged, I decided to work as a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness. Building relationships, understanding my client’s goals, and helping them achieve their health and fitness goals further enhanced my passion to help people. I was then given an opportunity to be a corporate on-site health coach at various companies throughout Southern California. From NRG Energy; to Con-way Trucking, I helped employees lower and maintain their blood pressure, lose weight and body fat, make behavior changes to their health, and increase overall life satisfaction with work and

Hi Dillon, hope all is going well so far! It’s great to hear that the hospital is hiring an athletic trainer, it just shows that out profession is finally starting to get the recognition it deserves. I was skeptical as well about this course, however working in a PT clinic I can see how this information is relative to our rotations. Usually when dealing with a new patient evaluation we get an opportunity to see medical images from orthopedist seen prior to their visit with us. In a way this Is how we communicate with different professions in the medical field without having to contact them directly and ask. Have a great second
The quarter has finally come to an end, and with that, I close out my internship and this class that went along with it. It was a great experience and I leave equipped with a new set of skills that are preparing me for the world ahead. As I write this reflection paper, I think back to the very first week when I set up two goals for myself to focus on and hope to achieve throughout the following weeks. My first goal was to develop a better understanding of myself within the work place, and my second was to develop a strong network to jumpstart my career. Both of my goals were achieved, however, I don’t feel that either of my goals will ever be complete. I believe that you can always formulate a better understanding of yourself, and you can always network to develop a stronger tree of connections. I know for a fact, however, that I reached satisfaction with both of my goals at this internship at MKI and know whole-heartedly that I did everything in my power to exhaust my resources in
Strategy: I contacted Jillian Michael to discuss how I want the activity to be done and whom it is for. I will inform her on my objective and goals for this activity and tell her the population of interest. We then will discuss the needs of the community regarding exercise and healthy eating and the best way to incorporate them in a college student’s life.

This paper focuses on the personal experiences gained from the internship while supporting the functions of Human Resources (HR) at the University of Texas at El Paso. The HR department provides a variety of services to all Staff, Faculty and Student employees. Throughout the internship, knowledge and skills have been obtained in the specific area of employment and recruitment.
