Today in a world that is so diverse, many religions exist. Christianity is one that plays a huge part in modern day society as there are 2.18 billion Christians all over the world (Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life). With so many religions existing it is often unlikely to know what each religion practices and believes in. Taking a closer look at Christianity specifically, this paper will serve to teach an average modern day member of society about Christian Theology. In order to get to the beginning of Christianity one would need to start with Judaism. Judaism was the first monotheistic religion and the origin for most monotheistic religions to follow. It’s believed that Paul had a vision and Jesus said to him "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" "Who are you, Lord?" Saul asked. "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting," he replied. "Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do" (Acts 9:3-6). From this Paul spread Christianity further than the Jewish communities.
Aside from baptism starting with Jesus, Christians believe that all humans are sinners that are only saved through Jesus who was sent to die for everyone's sins by God. Christians get this from God’s word that is given through the bible. The Christian bible is made up of an old testament and a new testament. With the bible, Christians prioritize worship and prayer. It is also a belief among the Christians that God is with them in three ways. First, through God (who is in Hebrew scriptures). Second, through Jesus the son of God and lastly through spirit.
Jesus serves as the center of Christianity, he plays the biggest role in this religion. Christians say that God granted them access to God’s grace through Jesus. As Jesus was the ideal human being Christians see him as God’s plan for humanity. Jesus means so much in Christian religion that it is through him that one is saved from sin and death by
