Mongols, Vikings, Apache, and Spartans. Some of the most and deadly armies in history, but who would win if they met on the field of battle. I think that the Mongols would win for a number of reasons. First, they had superior battle tactics, second, they had weapons that would overpower the other armies, third, they had excellent horsemanship, and fourth, they had a great leader by their side. The Mongols also left a big impact on world history.
The Mongols had superior battle tactics than those of any of the other armies. They used tactics such as, the ocean waves tactic, where the army would split into small groups of three to five soldiers so that they couldn’t be surrounded, and outflanking tactics, where the army would send a small detachment of soldiers onto the battlefield, and send the main forces around to attack from the back. I think that the outflanking tactic would work especially well against the Spartans, who used a phalanx formation, a formation in which, all of the greek hoplites would get into a rectangular formation and interlock their shields so that they could push forward and plow through the enemy. This formation leaves them open from the back, especially for an army that can get around them quickly before they notice, which the Mongols could do with their horses. Quick transport around the battlefield meant that they could outrun, and trample their enemies easily. The Mongolians had excellent horsemanship, they were able to stop and aim their arrows, then quickly start again and fire them at the enemy. This played to their advantage as well because the horses provided them with another layer of protection because it is hard to hit someone who is above ground, moving at 30 mph.
