The Mongols were a nomadic group, and this meant they moved around a lot to benefit from other groups land, they were run by Genghis Khan who was successful as an emperor taking over many places. The Mongols first started in 1206 and started expanding for a very long time where they conquered many pieces of land in the 13th and 14th century, the Mongols existed in Central Asia and expanded throughout all of Asia. We studied the Mongols because they were one of the biggest and most dangerous empires around Asia, they had power over many groups and used the Silk Road to become highly successful which can show us how different groups ran their land versus how Genghis Khan ran his land. “The Mongols also brought devastation through their spread of diseases. As they moved across different regions, they unintentionally transmitted diseases, such as the bubonic plague, which caused widespread death and economic disruption.”6 This disruption of diseases shows how through the evolution of the Mongol’s and the silk road they brought many devastating diseases to many groups which caused death and the loss of many economies. "The only way to prevent challenges such as the spread of infectious diseases is to restrict movement and exchange, and somehow roll back globalization and the connectedness of different cultures and peoples. However, the spread of plague in a world without planes, trains and cruise ships, serves as a reminder that diseases can move rapidly even without such technologies.” 7 The spread of diseases along the Silk Road was destructive, because as many different groups came to the Silk Road in a good shape to get goods, they either left dead or in a very bad shape, which is destructive because many important people lost their lives, which led to many empires to be without the people they might’ve needed the most. The spread of diseases happened because of the trade roots. The Silk Road was a group of all connected trade routes, with merchants, animals and goods constantly moving around them.
