Instagram Now by Molly Wetta explores the usefulness of Instagram as a way for libraries to reach out to teenagers. The article provides tips and directions for getting started in five areas essential to building an Instagram following to showcase library happenings and collections. The first areas is content. Library collections shared though creative photos, advertising of upcoming events, and sending reminders to forgetful teens are outlined. Secondly, the article describes ways to build a following including hosting contest, personally inviting users and using hashtags widely used in the community. The third subtopic is filled with advice on taking quality photos. An excellent piece of advice is to avoid taking photos through the Instagram
app., which has a low resolution when compared to most smart phones. The fourth area examined in the article is on streamlining workflow. This is the most technical part of the article and offers advice on ways to make Instagram easier to manage. Tips include stockpiling photos, setting up reminders to post, planning ahead to get a great picture, connecting with other social media platform including Twitter. Lastly a list of ten book/library themed Instagram to accounts follow is included along with the answer to the question, “How do I begin?” which details how to choose a username, set up a profile and get started in following accounts. This article is a thorough explanation of the usefulness of an Instagram account for librarians, especially those wanting to reach their teen patrons. By dividing the topic in to sub topics, the information seemed much less daunting and allows the reader to zero in on a particular area of interest. The article clearly explained the benefits of a library Instagram, while not getting bogged down in too many technicalities, which may perhaps turn off a less tech savvy reader. Wisely, Wetta saved the more technical aspects of maintaining an Instagram presence toward the end of the article, after the reader has first been enticed by all the benefits an account could provide to a library.
When it comes to personal information in America, the genie is out of the bottle. As such, information security will continue to be a pressing concern especially to most of our top three-letter-agencies such as the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency), NSA (National Security Agency), DOD (Department of Defense), and HS (Homeland Security) as most of them are staffed with employees with top secret security clearances (also known as TS).When someone is given this clearance, not only are they slated to uphold an allegiance to core values but they are also entrusted with our nations’ sensitive secrets and are held to the highest standards. Many of these professionals are honest and loyal to their country, but all humans are susceptible to preservation, desires, and needs that the famous psychologist Maslow showed in his famous hierarchy of needs pyramid. As such, without undue temptation and trickery most handle their jobs well and uphold their commitments to quietly (sometimes loudly) dedicate their lives to patriotism.
Using the murder of Dee Ann’s mother as a means to intertwine the lives of the characters together, Steve Yarbrough examines the nature of relationships in “The Rest of Her Life.” The relationships in the story take a turn after Dee Ann’s mother is killed, with characters seeking to act more on their own, creating distance between many relationships throughout the story. Independent lifestyles prevent emotional bonds that hold relationships together from forming, thus preventing the characters from maintaining healthy relationships. The dysfunctional relationship present between Dee Ann and Chuckie in “The Rest of Her Life” is the result of the characters ' desire for self-gratification.

Social media as he believes causes depression, anxiety, and is an unsafe atmosphere for teens to use(Potarazu, Sreedhar). But, like many others, Potarazu, provides no supporting evidence that the use of social media platforms is the root of all teenager challenges. In fact, when used correctly the internet can be a confidence booster and create friendships. As Lisa Darwin says in her blog “I also think that, despite what the majority of people think, platforms like Instagram can be used to empower girls and to spread positivity, and if you look for good things, you will find them on there.”(Darwin,

Comparing the past with the present, we can argue that information technology has done more good than harm and even as we progress into the future, we ought to adopt better technology because what we currently have may not be good enough.
