Introduction Policing is a critical sector in our economy. While most of us may see policing as a force that is used of enforce the law and to ensure that security is enhanced, policing is more than that and it involves the social interactions and how they are governed. Policing determines whether members of a particular society live in harmony with one another or not (Chingozha, 2015). This is why it is very important to ensure that the challenges facing police officer and the police force at large are addressed. This has the effect of affecting social relations and social order either positively or negatively.

There was so much cooperation and this helped to achieve the objectives of policing. All the eras in policing have had their advantages as well as their shortcomings. Some of the shortcomings of the community policing include the fact that the contact with the police force could bring about fear among citizens (Chingozha, 2015). While the police force is the law enforcement agency in an organization, the members of the public should be the custodians of the law and this would mean keeping an eye on matters that involve insecurity and reporting them to the relevant authorities. This way, they cooperate with the police force and social relations are improved (Stevens, 2017). In the near future, it may be necessary to the members of the public and the police to work together to improve policing in the society. The problems of corruption in policing as well as the reluctant nature of the police force to take up their role in society may be changes simply by engaging members of the public in policing activities. This can be done by ensuring that members of the public are rigorous in condemning corrupt activities among the police force. Eventually, integrity among the members of the police force will be achieved.
Conclusion
Dealing with the issues and the challenges facing the police force today is very important as this will ensure that policing in the future is directed towards ensuring that societal needs are meet and that good societal relation are achieved. Reforming the police policy may be necessary for good policing is to be achieved.
