From my extensive research on the projects and final essay I have become an expert on middle class inequality. I have researched varying viewpoints on why the middle class is declining and how the government must take action. I added this information to help enhance my essays. In my final essay I said “The next president Americans elect should be a Democrat. The Democrats have supported and implemented many programs that benefit middle class Americans. While the Republicans have ignored the middle class the Democrats have been fighting for them. The information I learned has helped enhance my essay and backup my main points. In my final essay I said “Democrats have been working to create affordable healthcare plans so that all Americans can have equal access to this necessity. Republicans on other hand, are trying to avoid the topic of income inequality. Bruce Bartlett, a former senior policy analyst for President Reagan said “Concern for inequality leads to redistribution, which all Republicans believe is evil (Income Inequality).” (pg 4). From the image analysis essay to the final essay I was able to learn proper MLA citations and citing sources in my essay. I also learned how to correctly use a quote as a source. Next, I worked on integrating a source into a conversation. This can be seen in my synthesis essay when I said “Representative George Miller is a Democrat from California who serves on the House Education and the Workforce Committee. One program that he strongly supports and helped write out the policies for is the ‘Middle Class Jumpstart’ action plan. Representative George Miller said, "Middle-class working families need legislative solutions that work for them.” Representative Steve Israel is a Democrat from New York who is also in favor of rebuilding the middle class” (pg 3).
