Kate Winslet would be a good actor to portray Mercedes because Mercedes is selfish, and in the movie Divergent, Kate Winslet is also selfish. Since the sled was too heavy, Hal and Charles had to discard some things on the sled, but, “Mercedes cried when her clothes-bags were dumped on the ground and article after article was thrown out. She cried in general, and she cried in particular over each discarded thing.” (London 58). Crying every time Hal or Charles threw something out proves that Mercedes is selfish because she only cares about how she feels, and that she doesn’t know how hard it is for Hal and Charles to drive with her crying all the time. Like Mercedes, Kate Winslet is also selfish in the movie because she wants to be the leader
