First we have training. On the job training is basically teaching the skills, knowledge, and competencies that are needed for employees to perform a specific job in the work pace and work environment. The employee who receives the necessary training is more able to perform in their job. Mentoring training is another form of training. This provides an employee with an experienced coach to oversee his or her learning experience. Mentoring provides professional socialization and personal support to facilitate their success in a mentored area. They are inevitable and constant. They will always arise. This also helps evolve the company and improve or advance. I feel it is important to always list or think of ways a company or person could have problems in the future. When a problem does arise, you have already been proactive and taken the initiative to quickly resolve and overcome the situation. Being prepared for the worst or problems in general is always good. Again, it is being proactive and taking control of situations that come to hand.
For example, another company doing the same line of work as your company is starting close to you, they are competition. Knowing how to keep your employees and your customers can be difficult in this situation. When there is an increase in selection, product, and completion, the battle of perception, marketing, and focus begin. Knowing how to attack this problem is beneficial.
Lastly, for career management is goals. Making goals, you do things like position ambition. This is when you set goals that will aid you in acquiring your desired employment position. Counselling, coaching and mentoring are all ways to help people achieve success and as a result, they have many similarities; however, there are subtle difference distinguishing them from one another. Counselling does not have one singular definition, as it is prevalent in many different areas of psychology. Nonetheless, Feltham (2012) defines counselling as a way of focusing on a range of psychological and subconscious issues, to help people reach their potential. Counselling emphasises the enhancement of the clients’ psychological health through discussion of personal issues, helping clients understand the underlying cause of long-established problems. Mentors and mentoring have been part of organisational culture in some capacity since humans started to organise things. It has survived several shifts in the context it was viewed in and how it was and is applied in the organisation. The challenge for organisations of the day be mindful of these constant changes and aim to be responsive not reactive for them. To diagnose exactly what, when and how mentoring should take place and challenge more staff to aspire to be mentors of the future.
One thing I believe is a necessity in growing up is having a mentor. Having a mentor is, not only, beneficial for the mentee but also the mentor. Being a mentor is a learning experience for everyone participating, it helps people grow as a person and friendships are created when a bond if formed. Some people might think it's a waste of time for a child or that it'll never work out for a troubled delinquent but based on the research I've done, I have proven them wrong. Through-out this paper I will provide the pros and cons of mentoring and how they affect both mentor and mentee. Career development is a continuous process of handling proactively work and changes in life in order to move forward and reach the goals set for a better future. It involves learning new skills, moving up in the position within the organization or altogether moving to new organization or even starting up a new business. A career development plan is created to set goals and how to reach these goals using your talents and skills in the working world. A five year plan is ideal to start with, as five years are enough to reach bigger goals while working for and achieving smaller goals.
Dynamic Duo Coaching and mentoring use the similar skills and approach, however coaching is short term task-based and mentoring is an extensive term relationship. When observing the coaching and mentoring landscape, confusion surrounds this dynamic duo (Salter & Gannon, 2015). Coaching Coaching is a useful way of developing people 's skills and abilities, and of heightening performance.

Training supports and makes possible the development of new skills and knowledge. Offering training for employees at various levels within an organization assist employees develop the necessary skills and proficiency to be successful in their careers as well as prepare for new responsibilities.
Training programmes: most large organisations have their own or employee training officers to run training programmes for employees. They usually have a personnel or human resources staff administering them. Small businesses provide their own training or use training consultants and colleagues this could be expensive. Training and development is a way of tuning and priming the workforce to enable them to work at their very best. An employee needs to know how the company operates, what the plans are for the future and where they might fit in and how they intend to develop them to enable them to develop with your company.
His first personal trait I have is that Chris wants to be a good father: At all times Chris wants to be there for his son. Even when it was hard for the family, Chris wanted to be there and care for his son. When they were basically homeless Chris still wanted to be there, he even pretended the bone density scanner was a time machine just to entertain his son during that tough moment in their lives. When they were homeless, Chris made sure to be there to get a place at the shelter so his son would be comfortable still and not out on the streets.
Lifelong, self-monitored process of career planning that involves choosing and setting personal goals, and formulating strategies for achieving them. Career management is a very significant and specific process that, when done properly, helps to ensure long-term career success.
Coaching refers to efforts by a manager to develop an employee's skills and knowledge so he can perform up to standards of a specific job. These standards set up by the employer is used by the organization to evaluate their employees. If an employee is not on par with the standards, he/she will get terminated by the firm. In contrast, mentoring is a broader process where a leader helps an employee balance personal and professional lives while building a career. Employees have lives outside their duties and responsibilities at the firm.
Career management plays important role in career development. Career management is done with involved taking some necessary steps to reach the career plan and commonly more focusing on the ability of the organization able to do for their employee to increase their career development (Werner & DeSimone, 2009). Career plan is usually able to be performed, at least in some apart, through the training program which implemented by the organization. Career management process contained four steps which are self-assessment, reality check, goal setting and action planning (refer to Figure 1 in Appendix 1).
My ethical and moral views, beliefs, attitudes and values have been fashioned by an up bringing that centred on Christian beliefs. Even though religion was not forced upon me as a child, my mother raised us all with a strong sense of right and wrong. Along with the influence of my family, the Navy has had a big influence on the person I am. The Navy has a strong ethos of what is expected of the personnel that serve; this is made up of the following: Leadership, High Professional Standards, and Courage in Adversity, Determination, Loyalty, Mutual Respect, Discipline, A Sense of Humour, Teamwork, and A Can Do Attitude. Most recently of all though, the biggest thing that has influenced me as a person and a parent has been my experiences of working with young people. This includes acting as a Youth Advisor for Portsmouth City Council, a Mentor for Barnardos and a Youth Advisor for East Sussex County Council. I am currently working in two secondary schools as part of my resettlement from the Navy. This has given me the experience of working with young people living in virtual poverty, in constant trouble with the Police and education services and some young people with varying levels of disabilities. This work has given me a good ability to stay impartial, to be non judgemental and has given me a capacity to treat people a lot more emphatically than I was ever able to. This is because I have been exposed to a greater range of problems and personalities than I have been used to in the Navy. These are qualities that I will hopefully be able to transfer into my coaching practice.
Nowadays, employability is about developing attributes, techniques or experience just to encourage a student to get a job, or to progress within a current career (Harvey 2003). A good career planning and development can help people better to improve their workability and reduce changes are caused by the unexpected loss of a position. It is important that involves learning enough about yourself and the professions which you are considering to make an acquainted decision (Haywood, B 1993). The career development refers to the individual career choice of analysis and determination of subjective and objective factors, to identify the personal goals and efforts to achieve this target. Career planning requirements, in other words, according to own interest, characteristics, and will position itself in a most can play to their strengths, ability to select the most suitable for their career. Career orientation is the key to development success or failure of the step, is also the starting point of career planning (Gerald, 2009).
