Imagine working out of town, Driving through town hungry and in a hurry. Going into a restaurant, waiting for your food can be a hassle. Lazy, but busy Americans just go to McDonalds. Fifteen minutes later the quarter pounder and fries with soda are all gone. McDonalds is famous for its American style burger and fries. Most people do not need to imagine this because McDonalds gets thousands of customers like this everyday. McDonalds is using many different factors to pull Americans in their restaurants and as a result, encourage unhealthy eating habits.
McDonalds is the leading fast food chain in America, worth over 80 billion According to Statista, a website that publishes "statistics and studies from more than 18,000 sources" (Statista).

It is best stated in McDonald's mission statement that they want to be the world's best quick service restaurant experience. As stated before, McDonald's has restaurants in 121 countries and has extensive global experience in customer service and satisfaction. McDonald's is excellent at researching an international area before building restaurant there. McDonald’s primarily sells hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken snacks, french fries, breakfast items, soft drinks, milkshakes, and desserts. In response to changing consumer tastes, the company has expanded its menu to include salads, fish, wraps, smoothies, and fruit. Their food caters to all age groups, and they have a special menu known as “happy meal” that is targeting children.

As of 2013, there are over 1700 Chic-fil-A restaurants in more than 39 states with a gross revenue in sales around $4.6 billion (Redman & Sankar, 2013).
Advertising is mainly targeted at children – children may be a large part of McDonalds’ target market, but the advertisements of the past have solely been targeting children.
