This is to notify Fidelis Care that our patient Maxine Winder, since we started servicing her she has been giving us issues. I would not offer Landis anything. She has been warned that she was not performing her job and she has already cost the company enough by not performing her job. Nonetheless, if she threatens with a lawsuit, the options would have to be looked at again. If the lawsuit outweighs the severance package, the company would have to go to court but if it does not, one maybe able to settle. This type of decision would be made once the company looks at the attorney fees and lost time when it comes to going to court.
The case study I have decided to research and report about is case study 6-2. This case regards the 12 year old girl that is mature, informed and is choosing to refuse a cardiac transplant. This is the case that has stood out to me this semester so far. This is a very interesting case, principles clash and the circumstance is very unique. I hope to impact this professional with my knowledge and expertise. I am now in school again to further my knowledge of this profession. It may seem old for some. However, for me learning has no age and boundaries as I continued to gain more knowledge and perhaps someday I can be a mentor for my peers. I hope to someday work In Risk management where I can continue to fight and argue the rights of my patients and peers whom all deserve a sense of dignity and self-worth. Mr. Wilkinson greeted Disability Network staff with enthusiasm, at his home, on the day of the assessment. His hand shake was firm and no hygiene issues were noted. Mr. Wilkinson was given a general overview for the purpose of the assessment: to help with identifying potential barriers to pursuing employment or education. He was encouraged to ask for clarification of questions or statements that were unclear. He confirmed that he was his own guardian and chose to have his father present for the assessment. Our consumers receive Medicaid funds to pay Personal Care Attendants (PCA). Under Medicaid, The Whole Person as a fiscal manager creates the checks for the Consumer (employer) to pay the PCA (employee) for services. Recently The Whole Person has starting to receive letters from the Health Insurance Marketplace a division of the Department of Health and Human Services stating our organization did not offer the PCAs health benefits.
