The conventional view of family therapy is a narrow one. According to this view, therapy treats an entire group - at least father, mother, and child - not just an individual patient. In the therapeutic situation, these family members present a major component of their everyday life.
Some primary personality traits, characteristics, and qualities are associated with the job of an occupational therapist. One must be patient, organized, empathetic, and energized. Patience, being one of the most important, will help to work clients through problems in a calm, suitable manner. Empathy is also important. In order to gain a clint’s trust, they must believe their OT truly understands how they feel and what they are going through.
... properly interact and communicate well with their clients, they need to be emotionally intelligent, self aware, create a therapeutic relationship and develop reflective practices. All of the above contributes to an individual’s health and so it’s very important that we are able to control our emotions, correct and learn from our mistakes, examine and balance our life and create a therapeutic environment so that our clients feel comfortable, safe and trust us enough to live their life in our hands.
Mental health nurses are skilled at using therapeutic communication techniques. They use different forms of communication with patients to help them either heal or cope with their mental state. Giving recognition, being available and accepting, offering encouragement, verbalising observations, restating what the patient has said, seeking clarification, putting feelings of the patient into words, and many other therapeutic techniques are used when communicating with a patient.
1. Listening skills, such as listening to the client and understanding client needs and wants more carefully and responsively. Acknowledging the feelings they are expressing. Compassionately allowing them to express their feelings. Listening and reflecting back on what I hear allows me to identify client’s thoughts. Listening in the field of social work is crucial in understanding client’s situation. Listening responsibly lets the client know you care about them.
These are the skills and competencies I have learned through my studies at Walden University. Kaslow, Grus, Campbell, & Fouad, et al. (2009) stated professionalism comes from my respect for those who need help. Integrity can be built with confidence in the therapist. Attitudes are charitable, polite, caring emotions toward others that fuel my motivation toward helping. This concern welfare of others comes from my religious and personal experiences as a child and young adult.
Being a therapist is not only sitting in a chair listening to your clients’ problems all day. It is also not “reading-minds” as many people think and it is not giving advice or solving each clients’ issue. Therapists have many qualities that define the effectiveness of their treatment and their competence in the field. The important qualities that a therapist should have are empathic and great listening skills. In addition to, the therapist must be knowledge in their skills and in the different mental disorders in order to prevent a misdiagnosis. Furthermore, the therapist should have other qualities such as interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with the clients so they can feel secure and continue to come to therapy.
Those characteristics include, a desire to help others, attention to detail, and emotional and mental strengths. A desire to help others is one of the most important characteristics. If a person does not have the desire or want to help others, they would not succeed in this field. Additionally, if the desire to help others is not present, not only with the counselor suffer, but so would the people seeking and needing assistance. It is imperative to possess this quality so that the people in need receive the quality care that they need and deserve. If the counselor does not have this characteristic, then they will be lacking in all other areas. Since counselors and all mental health professionals interact will all types of people, it is necessary that he or she be alert and pay close attention to detail that the client may not divulge. For example, it is hard for an abused child or an abused woman to share all of the details about their abuser. In many cases it is because of fear. Whatever the case may be, it is important that all counselors pay close attention to detail in any situation. It is also very important for the counselors to take care of themselves. Dedicated counselors can get so involved in their work that they can become burnt out. If the mental health professional becomes worn out, it could affect the way in which they interact
A mental health counselor develops a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families and groups to accomplish mental health and career goals. Helping others to accomplish their goals and listening to various stories of hardship have always played a part in my life. Stories of others have helped me get through rough times, and so did my own personal stories do the same for others. My story may help save a life tomorrow. It is a rewarding career path that one may enjoy which requires excellent communication skills and a commit between each other.

Marriage is one of the most important things in people’s life. When they are tired of being alone, handling and dealing with their own troubles, they get married. When they no longer have fun with those overnight parties with hangovers, no longer enjoy the loud music turning up, they get married. Or maybe they just simply fall in love with the one who give them strength and happiness, they want to get married. Then, what is the reason to get married ? In each person’s life, there will be a certain time for them to grow up and think maturely about settling down, otherwise, to get married.
Marriages are a big responsibility in many different reasons. For instance, if the marriage is blessed with a child that is one big responsibility. They are responsible for nurturing, providing and protecting their children. Also they should be role models for their children. Another big responsibility is when they make a long-life commitment to be true to one another in good times and in bad. God can also be a part of the relationship. The participation involves the complete love, trust, and respect between the couple and with god.

Every people all have different thought and also have a different definition of what happiness is. Everyone wants to be happy with their whole life. So they keep doing for the thing that makes them happy. Valerie Bertinelli, who is an American actress says “Happiness is a choice. You can choose to be happy. There’s going to be stressed in life, but it’s your choice whether you let it affect you or not” If there is one thing that make you happier wouldn’t you? So what makes people happier between unmarried or married ones? Those who are in favor of unmarried may say married people spend most of the time together, then they don’t have time for their own life but we can enjoy our life and the freedom. Moreover, people who got married have to face with a lot of problems. If they are lucky they can pass through all the problem together if not divorce is the answer for them. However, marriage is a good way to know more about each other and learn how to live your life together.
