Once the target market has been identified it is important to develop a marketing strategy. In today's fast paced, information overloaded society; conveying a message about a product seems to be more difficult than ever. The consumer is bombarded with advertising everywhere they look. Today advertising not only exists on television, radio, magazines, and newspapers, it can be found on billboards, park benches, in our mailboxes, on buses, taxis, at sporting events, and on clothing.
Attractive Appeal & Get Attention– Here you can be as innovative, artistic and creative as you want, within the limits of compliance laws, of course. Create a theme with pictures and colors that take positioning into account. For example, if you want your product to be perceived as jovial and festive, then you'll want to think about using bright colors and images of people laughing or smiling, perhaps. Your goal is to get your consumers to not only notice your product, but to also trigger positive emotions of trust and loyalty. You want to think outside of the box and see if you can come up with unique and interesting ways to catch attention. Study some of your competitors, especially the ones that are thriving. What kind of packaging are they using? Test out some of their products, and note down your feelings. Look at products that you use and love. What drew you to the packaging? A good example of great product packaging is Magnum Ice Cream. The white chocolate flavor comes in black and gold packaging, radiating emotions of prestige, stability and power – all that from just ice
There are so many marketing techniques that companies use in today’s world. There are also many competitions that companies face because of the advancement of marketing and different kind of brands. Old spice does a great job advertising and campaigning by using classical conditioning. Old Spice is an American brand that males use for grooming, they do a great job marketing the product and presenting them to consumers. Classical conditioning is when theorists teach either animal or human certain behaviors passively through repetition. After the theorist teach the animals, the theorist measure and see what the response. One of the most important thing about classical conditioning is to see something repetitively, and learning how to behave. Old Spice uses classical conditioning to influence consumers’ attitude because it shows the commercials repetitively. Classical conditioning also involves unconditioned stimulus, conditioned stimulus, conditioned and unconditioned response. Old spice’s commercials have everything included. Response campaign was a huge success because it involved everyone; it included mass media such as TV, print and digital ads.
16.Pull factors are things people say that attract or influence people to come and leave their old county. An example would be that people say there are a lot of jobs available in a certain place or that there is education. (Positive conditions)
When a business aims to be as successful as possible in selling its products and services, it must examine in detail whether or not the products will be attractive and necessary; if the price is optimal; if the product is being distributed in the best locations; and finally, how interest and awareness can be created for the products. In order for a business to target all of these elements at the right people at the right time, it must employ the right type of marketing mix: Product, Price, Place and Promotion.
· Use of social media for promotion- word of mouth and social media help to get the message across and promote the product efficiently
The LEGO Group organization is famous due to its flagship product – colourful plastic bricks that can be interlocked to form a variety of figures, and then disconnected again. These binding bricks originated in a wooden form when the company was first established in Billund, Denmark by Kirk Kristiansen in 1932 (The LEGO Group, 2012), and today’s well known plastic version was introduced in 1958 (Rosenberg). The company’s head office is located in Billund to this day, and The LEGO Group remains privately owned by Kristiansen’s family (The LEGO Group, 2012). They currently sell toys and teaching materials in over 130 countries worldwide.
Promotion. Finally comes promotion - informing the customer on the qualities and advantages of the product so that the potential buyer learns about the product, prefers it to those of the competitors, and has an opportunity to buy it at some place.
Harley-Davidson institutes a pull strategy in the promotion of the FXDS-CONV Dyna Convertible. Due to the limited number of dealerships (for example, there are only five in Nashville and the surrounding communities) customers must actively seek out a location to purchase this bike. Also, because so many customers decide to customize their Dyna Convertibles, they must place a special order with the dealer, who in turn must contact intermediaries along the distribution channel in order to satisfy the customer. Further, the fact that demand for Harley motorcycles far exceeds the supply indicates that a pull strategy is in place.
How to Position the Product in Relation to Other Products – Where to sell/to whom do you sell? The Right Marketing Mix – Is the product right? , Is it sold in the right market? right places? , At the right price?, Is the product promoted in the right places?
To the Marketing Manager Introduction The pet food market has experienced steady growth for years and despite a slight decline in pet ownership, pet food sales have increased. This is especially true for cat food sales, which reflects the fact that cats are outpacing dogs slowly but steady. As the trend is going towards pets being treated as a part of the family, they deserve food that is equal in the way to human dishes. These and other factors are the foundation of our report on entering the promising cat food market. Main The current cat food market is dominated by 2 multinational players, namely Mars (Masterfoods) with a share of 40% of the market and Nestlè (Friskies UK) with 41 %.
This strategy is very much about the business which is carried out as usual. In this strategy the marketer is focusing on both the product and the market opportunity.
Too often, a marketing function is misunderstood, because many people do not understand what is meant by ‘Marketing’.
There was once a time when companies used to spend heavily on publishing, compelling, ads on newspapers and magazines just to put the word out there, but times have changed and so have the medium used to broadcast these ads. Nowadays, companies use the internet to spread the news, to be more specific, companies use the social media as an advertising tool. Over the years, social media has vastly changed the way we communicate and interact with one another, some examples of such social media might be Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube etc. This kind of interacting tools are now been used by businesses to sell or advertise their products, one might say that the social media is the modern day substitute for newspapers and magazines. One company that has been doing this heavily is Android (owned by Google), Android ads can be seen in every corner of the internet whether be famous sites like Facebook or now extinct ones such as Myspace, although one such social media that they haven’t been using is XDA developers. The site predominantly focuses on software development and discussion for Android, Windows, Ubuntu Touch, and Bada phones etc. The following paper will discuss and analyze their audience and argue why XDA developers is the best social media platform to advertise smartphone operating system companies such as Android to the general public and developers.
A pull system, on the other hand, looks at the manufacturing process from the other end, i.e. from the perspective of the finished item. The production controller works on the basis that his/her orders represent firm customer requirements. The time horizon is understandably short. The orders are broken down from the highest level and the controller checks whether sufficient component parts are available to produce the finished product. If the components are available, the product is produced. However, if they are not, compon...
