Mandatory Classes

When working to accomplish a college degree, there are many core curriculum courses that are mandatory for all students to take, for example, writing classes. These writing courses should be categorized as mandatory classes for all students regardless of their major because the ability to state or discuss an idea clearly and effectively in an organized approach is a sign of a knowledgeable person.

Writing courses act as a fundamental basis for most other classes; they teach you basics such as learning how to speak and write properly. Writing helps students learn how to think quickly and gather ideas into a well-developed format. For example, usually when a student is asked to write a paper, they are only allowed a certain amount of time to

gather and organize their thoughts together. No matter what major a student is studying in college, everyone must have the ability to complete this task in their every day lives or in any type of job. Writing helps young adults learn how to organize and process a complete thought. Writing classes also allow students to see topics in different ways, they are allowed to broaden their horizons on a specific idea and express themselves in a variety of ways.
In almost all career paths, writing is involved, whether it is in the medical field, business, or even engineering. Whether it is writing reports, procedures, or regulations, there will come a time when writing knowledge will be needed. Writing will be an aspect students will continue to use throughout their life. The more qualified one is in writing, the easier their job will be. Also, the more advanced one is in writing, the more likely they are to be chosen for a job over the many other applicants. For example, when applying for a job, it is required to complete an application that normally contains an essay part. The essay topic may either be about yourself and your accomplishments, why you want the job, or why you are the best applicant for the job. The applicant with the best-developed and written essay is most likely to be hired. This example applies to any type of job, no matter what major it focuses on. It is crucial to teach young adults proper writing skills so they can put these skills to use in a professional environment.
Overall, writing is going to continue to be a crucial part of our lives, whether it is in every day life situations or job situations, college-writing classes should be mandatory to continue to further the skills of the younger generation. College writing classes are crucial to the futures of the students and will benefit them in many ways.
