SNHU Personal Statement

August 30th move in day here at Southern New Hampshire University, boy was I excited. I had spent weeks gathering my things and preparing for my big move into college. Once I had settled on that warm summer day I said goodbye to my parents and started my journey as a student at SNHU. I remember how I felt the first couple of weeks full of excitement to meet people and become part of the SNHU community. Although full of excitement I began to second-guess myself, I had felt very dissatisfied with my living situation for a great deal of the first semester. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to move into Washington with another student, which has been great. I find as I spend more time here at SNHU the more it feels like home. During my first semester I have been faced with many challenges. It has been an uphill battle with time management, nutrition, optimism, and stress. Fortunately for myself I happened to be very skilled in time management although it was tough, I was able to prioritize myself enough to focus on the most important thing, my education. On another note I have not easily managed my meals. I find myself going to bed hungry on certain days do to the large workload. However, as I have grown into this experience I have begun finding other ways to balance my studies and more wisely manage my …show more content…

I am currently taking college composition as a general education course. I am also an acting member of the Bodybuilding Club, and a staff writer for the Penmen Press. These three things along have improved my writing skills immensely. Writing is something I have always struggled with. Fortunately I have access to such a great writing staff that can critique me as well as an extremely passionate teacher, Mr. Wilbert. Not to mention the vast amount of resources SNHU has to offer like the learning center and of course an amazing advising
