The symbols i've chosen for my mandala have a significant representation of my life and a lot of meaning to and about me. The symbols have a significant representation of my life because they are things that I love and make me who I am. The symbols I made for my mandala are, family, grades, sports, traveling and cars. Together these symbols make me who I am by showing what I love. My top 2 priority symbols are family and grades. The main symbol I put in the middle is family, which consist of my mom, my little brother and I. This symbol means that I care about my family a lot because they're in the middle which is the most important part of my mandala. My family makes me who I am because without them I wouldn’t be as independent when it comes …show more content…
This symbol makes me who I am because without my love for sports I wouldn’t be as athletic as I am which is important to me because I like to be in good shape. My symbol at the bottom represents cars, which is a chevy symbol with a ss in the middle that represents a camaro. The reason I put the camaro is because that has been my favorite car ever since I was 8 and cars are important to me because I love the ways cars can be upgraded and the thrill. Cars make me who I am because I love the thrill of cars and the many different things you can do with them, my personal favorite being the camaro. The symbol on the right side of my mandala represents traveling and shows a plane that represents traveling. Traveling is important to me because I am an adventurous person and like to see and do new things. Traveling makes me who I am because it has made me the adventurous person I am from seeing and doing new things. The most common place i've traveled to is Mexico and I have been there over ten times. But someday i'd like to travel to the bahamas and all fifty states which would further help with the adventurous person that I
First of all, I think my first symbol would be a duckling. At my toddler age I didn't liked getting dirty, if I got dirty I wanted to be
Another prevalent symbol to me is the idea of sin. In The Ministers Black Veil Hooper just suddenly one day shows up to church wearing a veil. At first the people are sort of angered by it. People soon start to flock to his congregation to view the spectacle, and go so far as to test their '"'courage'"' by seeing who will go and talk to him. I think that the veil could represent sin. In The Ministers Black Veil Hooper was either trying to hide his sin from the people so that they could not judge him, which is god"'"s job, or maybe he was trying to protecting his self from the sins of the people. In the end of The Ministers Black Veil Hooper dies, and sees his congregation all wearing black veils, which would probably hint that maybe it represented the sin in all of us. In The Birthmark Georgiana"'"s birthmark could represent, as some religions believe, the original sin which is bestowed on all by the '"'hand'"' of god. But, unlike Hooper, Georgiana could not help her markings.
I would argue Moonrise Kingdom (2012) is a film about children racing into adulthood because of societal pressures. This film shows a story about a young girl named Suzy Bishop (Kara Hayward) and about a young boy named Sam Shakusky (Jared Gilman). These two characters fall in love through their letters and plan to run away together. I would argue they ran away because children their age found them both weird. But both of them have secrets and stories they weren’t wanting to remember or dwell on. As it shows in the film Suzy watches her mother have an affair with the police officer. And no one besides Suzy in the family knows of this and is keeping this secret to herself. Sam also has a depressing backstory, because of the death of his parents and the hardship of orphanages. The setting and props in this film reinforce my interpretation of this film.
Each symbol exhibits Janie’s development as she faces freedom, rebellion, authority, destruction, and individuality. These symbols sculpt Janie’s journey into success and mold her into the woman she becomes.
Symbolism is used in many ways and writers use symbolism to “enhance their writing.” It can give their work “more richness and color and can make the meaning of the work deeper.” In literary work the actions of the characters, words, action, place, or event has a deeper meaning in the context of the whole story. The reader needs to look see the little things like a dove symbolizes peace, or like the red rose stands for romance. Mostly everything can have a symbolism meaning to it. For instance the flag symbolizes freedom and the stars represent the states. Even some signs are symbols like when a beaker has a skull with a bones placed like an ‘x’ behind it symbolizes that it’s toxic or bad. When people see the red light when driving that’s a symbol to stop, the yellow to slow down, and the green to go.
The book, The Hobbit starts at Bilbo’s house. “In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.” pg 11. At the beginning Bilbo is a non adventurous hobbit who likes to mind his own business and doesn't like visitors.Gandalf brings the dwarves to Bilbo’s house because he believes that Bilbo will help the dwarves on their journey. At the start Bilbo didn’t know the dwarves but Gandalf carved a symbol into Bilbo's door. “And I assure you there is a mark on this door - the usual one in the trade, or used to be. Burglar wants a good job, plenty
Symbolism: sign of peace, often used when the characters are looking for some relaxation and distraction from their problems
“A symbol has many meanings. It has literal meaning and additional meaning beyond the literal.” Symbolism has been used in many occasions. We tend to use symbolism in states. For example Austin symbolizes Texas because it’s our capital. The figures that are used in public restrooms are to show which one is for men and women.
Signs and symbols are two very important parts of a society because a society is deeply rooted on the various signs and symbols that people come across on daily basis.

It is important to find a symbol in life, for it can dictate one's importance in a world full of hatred and
A basketball represents my life. Basketball has been my life. That's all I have known since my first days of high school and it is and will continue to be the most important thing to me through college. Sometimes though when you've done something for so long, it's healthy to get away so you can find that spark again, that fire, that love as to why you started a passion for the sport in the first place, but I am just getting started. It has taken me places I thought I would never go, and I am hoping it continues to do so.
Looking at the symbol it may seem very simplistic but the symbolism behind it can become profound. The true meaning was created centuries ago and is still evident in today’s society. I believe we must think back to the origins of our thought periodically. It is good to remember how different theories evolved. This symbol holds intelligence that could be used to bring balance to everyone. Remember, our values are not universal. A healthier life can be obtained through the awareness of balance, opposition and interdependence of yin yang in the
My coat of arms is about me, who I am, what I love and who I want to be. In it I have four sections that have an apple and a pencil, 5 arrows and family in chinese, a Georgia peach with the Georgia outline, and in the last section I have music notes. Each section means something or tells something about me. Each section is also colored with a certain color showing what each section represents to me.
What is a symbol? A Symbol represents an idea or another object. A symbol can have multiple meanings depending of the person. In How to Read Like a Professor Foster explains symbols in depth in chapter twelve “Is That a symbol?”. Foster says that if a symbol only has one meaning than it ceases to be a symbol. The reader 's background and experiences decide on what a symbol means to them and only them. In E.M. Forster’s A Passage to India one can find many examples of symbolism. However, symbolism used to express Hinduism is the most prevalent. Hindus believe that all living things are equal and that there is unity in all life. Forster uses a wasp, the marabar caves, and a Hindu festival to portray the Hindu
