Choosing a college is very difficult for most people, but it is also essential to choose the right college. There are several factors that play into the process of choosing a college. Topics such as academic environment, extracurriculars, and campus life. Two particular colleges caught my attention. While SIUE and Purdue have similarities, they also have many differences. Purdue’s GPA requirement is at least a 3.25 on a four-point scale, while SIUE only requires a 2.6 GPA for admission. Not only do the colleges require a certain GPA to be admitted, but they need a certain SAT or ACT score. Purdue being a harder school to enter, requires a higher test score of 1210 on the SAT and at least a 27 on the ACT. Usually, rooms that are for only one person are more expensive than those that can fit two. The difference between the two is the pricing of the residential areas, the requirement for housing, and special residences. SIUE has a pricing range based on luxury and number of students. They offer $3,380 per semester for a shared room, $4,260 per semester for a deluxe private room, and $4,795 per semester for a deluxe suite (Application, Costs & Forms). The prices for the residential halls vary based on what hall it
