Makeover is a head to toe transformation. Many people have mistaken makeover as only makeup. But makeup is actually one part of the makeover. Makeover also includes working out to lose weight and also hairstyling. Makeover is not something new for us. It is considered as normal and also a trend for the teenagers. However, teenagers are prone to dress up only when they are hanging out with their friends. This shows that most of the teenagers, who are students, do not realise that makeover is essential when they go to class. With that, I will tell you about the importance of makeover among students. Have you ever seen a supermodel on a runway? The way they walk arrogantly in front of others. Ever wonder why? Because they know that their designers
and makeup artist had made them look pretty and outshine more than other people. This will be further explain in my first point. By making over, you can actually boost your confident level as it can make one more appealing. Economists believe this as, in what’s been dubbed as, “beauty premium”; the idea that good looking people tend to do better in their work. This is because looking good leads to feeling good. According to Scott Barnes, a makeup artist and also the author of Face to Face, feeling good leads to empowerment. When you put the best of you forward, it gives you the opportunity to really accelerate in life. Feeling good commands respect, and that’s empowering. Besides raising confidence in a person, there is another effect of makeover towards an individual. Moving on to my second point, which is makeover helps to enhance character building through transformation. You will exude the best possible version of yourself when you feel confident and comfortable of yourself. Due to that, you will be more approachable and friendly. There’s actually a correlation between external and inner beauty. This can be proven when you do not feel pretty. You might isolate yourself from socializing from your friend because you will feel inferior that people will judge and label you based on your appearance. All of us must had experienced awestruck when a good looking person walk in front of us. The question is, how can this happen? Makeover can give out positive first impression by disseminating positive aura. It is normal that people are enchanted towards beautiful things and people. With that, we can use beauty as a tool to create a positive change. The idea is when you look charming, you will attract people to listen and give their full attention partly because they are awed by your looks. This will promotes two ways communication as your audiences are interested in giving feedbacks to you. Thus, it may develops a person who can impart info convincingly. Now we know why we as student should makeover when going to college. In short, makeover is not only essential to a person who have careers like lecturers but also students because makeover is essential for students as it helps them improve their confidence level, enhance character building and also give good first impression. However, make sure you do not over-makeover yourself. Make sure it is suitable based on the situation as what you wear tells what kind of person you are, and how you bring yourself will determine whether you are acceptable by the community or not. Before I end my speech, I would like to remind all of you that makeover is not to cover up flaws but to enhance one’s beauty.

Introduction I want you all to ask yourselves how far you’re willing to go to be the best at the thing you do most. For some people, the choice they must make is going to be a very big one with very real side effects. I’m sure many of you watch professional sports and the Olympics. I’m a very big fan of sports and I researched this topic because I find it incredibly interesting how far these athletes are willing to go to be the best at their craft. Although I have never done them, I passively gain knowledge about performance-enhancing drug usage in sports and the effects it has on the body every day.
When Halloween approaches, I feel the air becoming cooler and the nights becoming longer. Clouds over lap the moon creating an eerie look in the sky. Children grow more and more excited to put on their costumes, and they spend one night out of the whole year going door to door getting free candy. As I have grown up over the years, Halloween is celebrated differently for me. I always notice that even though it is celebrated differetly the people haven’t changed and that’s what makes it memorable.
As part of our culture, while growing up boys and girls are expected to learn the basic skills to fulfill the "roles of their gender." For boys this includes learning all of the the routine maintenance on a car, to work out and be stronger then the girls, and are usually expected to be better with electronics. While at the same time girls are steered towards learning how to cook, clean, and look pretty. All of the female roles require a lot of practice and trial and error before they can be mastered, but the hardest and most time consuming skill to be learned still remains applying make-up. Just as anything else (even writing an essay) the finished product always seems so simple and easy enough to be done by a child in a few minutes. Although, in reality girls spend years doing trial and error to find out what looks good on them and a few more years making it look "natural." This is necessary for every girl go through on her own, to be able to have her own look. However, there is a routine make-up application process that will help any beginning girl with he basics.

The Fashion Industry can be described as a glamorous world with cameras flashing, beautiful models strutting down the runway, in stunning and grand designs. What really goes on behind fashion’s dolled up doors is only an illusion compared to what reality is. Beautiful people, stylish clothing and timeless sophistication all make up the illusion of the glitz and glam of the fashion industry, but behind the curtains countless of models and designers constantly fall victim to this industry’s ever changing wrath. Fashion can be defined as a popular trend especially in styles of dress, ornaments or behavior. A model is a person who poses or displays for art purposes, fashion or other products and advertising. Fashion models are used mainly to promote products focusing mostly on clothing and accessory. The two main type of modeling in the fashion industry is commercial modeling and high fashion modeling. High Fashion models usually work for campaigns, designer’s collections and magazine editorials for high fashion designers. Runway modeling also known as “catwalk modeling” is displaying fashions and is generally performed by high fashion models. In my research paper, my main focus will be the multiple effects on high fashion models based upon the industry’s unregulated standards.

Society is now so used to seeing these models who have their beauty and superiority idolized that they feel all women must look this way. However, looking like a model is becoming increasingly unattainable. According to Bennett the difference between the catwalk and reality is so stark that the slightest change in a girls form makes them self-conscious because they are constantly sizing themselves up to models (Bennett). Today models are dramatically thinner and taller than they were a few years a...
“Remember always that you not only have the right to be an individual, you have an obligation to be one.” – Eleanor Roosevelt. These are some very wise and empowering words, I must say. I believe many teenagers in today’s generation are most of the time wearing a mask. A mask that is made up of what the world wants them to be, a mask that they think may protect them from not allowing others in, a mask that was built from peer pressure, a mask that was formed from bullying. There’s always a story behind someone’s mask, as I call it. Most of the time teens nowadays are afraid to be themselves, to be individuals, due to the way they think people will perceive them. I do have to say though, that those that have ripped their masks away are the ones that have truly become individuals. Of course,
Specific speech purpose: To persuade the class that emotional/mental health is important, and is in fact even more important than their physical health.
Face it, we have all heard the phrase,"You are what you eat" countless times in your life, but what does that truly mean. Every few months or years, millions go into trying new diets and diet pills but fail to understand why they cannot continue to eat healthy after their first few days on their new diet. Well, 1) the word "DIE" is in diet 2) no matter where you look you 're going to find delicious food ads and junk food and 3) you don 't have support.
I won’t ask who has gained this weight, but by a raise of hands, how many of you have thought to yourself, “Are my jeans getting tighter?”
