Nowadays, everyone has a Bachelor’s, it’s become the standard to have one. I feel having something greater than that is bound to catch the employer’s eye of wherever I might apply. The job I plan on taking with the double-major is the field of accounting. This job basically revolves around math which is the subject I’m best on. I plan on working as that for a while. I’d want to do it enough to clear any debt that I may have, or just to settle down. My preferred college for this is the University of Texas, as I’ve come to learn they have an excellent business program. After doing that for a few years, I want to go back to law school to get my law degree. I feel with the experience I’ll get from business and law I’ll be more than suited to be a lawyer from a company. Companies, especially those whom make any products for customers, get sued a lot. Having experience on both of these fields would make me excellent for this position.

A college degree is what most employers look for now-a-day, making it more essential than ever before.

My academic experience includes State University as well as University of Phoenix. However, my experience at Phoenix earned me an MBA with a 3.61 GPA and I believe this experience proves my ability to survive a rigorous master’s degree program. The intensity of the program challenged my intellect and abilities and it was great preparation for Yale’s MPS program.
By studying an undergraduate degree, it will allow me to stand out from the rest of the people that don’t have education up to degree level and this would help when applying for jobs. How can some people struggle when they have a degree from a quality institution, while others can be successful without a college degree or in a field unrelated to their degree? In my opinion, it’s because a college education doesn’t guarantee success. Success is up to many other factors that college often does not teach. I believe that certification tests would be a better replacement for the BA, because they would separate the students with the will and determination from those who are just coasting their way through their courses. Students who currently enrolled in college courses in pursuit of a Bachelor in Arts per say are wasting their time and effort.

All of the three essays that we were required to read in class were fairly difficult to understand, but after a second reading, the essay's meaning became clearer. I also feel as though their messages and key ideas are captivating. I definitely thought they would be extremely dry and difficult to understand.
