For most people choosing a major is a daunting experience, some may have pre determined notions of what they want to do while other look for something to sustain their future. However, for me it has always been a dream to achieve success through passion. For most of my life math has been my favorite subject, the logic and problem solving aspects of mathematics was something I enjoyed. However, although math was dear to me it was not my calling. Some may have always known what will further their academic career, but I found my calling at the start of my sophomore year of college.

My whole life, my family had me designated as the “Computer wiz” a title I found strange initially, as I would give them recommendations on technology and fix some of their problems. At that point I was only around 10 nevertheless, computers as a lifelong hobby of mine. in the summer of my freshman year I began teaching myself basic programming skills such as HTML and JavaScript. I would sit in font of my computer each day watching online instructional videos. Services such as Khan academy helped me learn a new skill. Going through tons of computer material my interest multiplied rapidly. After I knew some coding, a friend of my father had asked me to build a website for his restaurant that just hit an iceberg. in hopes of rescuing the sinking ship I had created and managed the restaurant for a few months. Although, the website had attracted a number of customers the restaurant couldn’t sustain its injuries. This was an enlightening experience that opened my eyes to my true passion. It was apparent right from the start that this is something that enabled enabled creativity, freedom, and analytical ways to do what ever I wanted. I found myself wanting to learn and do more more but one can only go so far with self-teaching. Then it hit me; I want to study computer
