William Shakespeare was a famous playwright in the 16th century and considered to be the best playwright of all time. One of his works is called Macbeth; it is a very famous play where the character Macbeth is prophesied to become King and kills his way to get there sooner. Lady Macbeth is clearly more responsible for the murder of King Duncan because she insults his courage and whips him into committing the murder.
William Shakespeare was born on April 23 to john Shakespeare, but may have been born a few days earlier. He had three brothers and one sister. Shakespeare’s house where he spent his childhood was right next to the wool shop where his father worked successfully. John was a farmer in the village of snitterfield before moving to Stratford. After john rose to the highest municipal positions in Stratford he went to the college of heralds for the right to be called a gentleman. Before his application could be looked at, he started having financial problems, it is not clear why. But then when his oldest son obtained social status and renewed the petition, a Shakespeare coat of arms was finally granted. William spent two years at “petty school” to learn rudiments of reading and writing, and then went on to grammar school when he was seven. With his father’s social status William should have been eligible to attend the King’s New School, which was no more than a five minute walk from Shakespeare’s house. Shakespeare would also have become well grounded in Latin, some Greek, and a developed linguistic facility. After his school years Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway at the age of eighteen. She became pregnant when the marriage license was issued by the Bishop of Worcester on November 27, 1582; we know this because the daughter ...

...slaughter in Macbeth’s soliloquy are paralleled even in this brief, sharp exchange between husband and wife. (Lincoln, 22). In this quote it seems as Lady Macbeth is clearly responsible for the murder of King Duncan. It says she insults his courage and manhood to make him go in with the murder, if she would not have done this Macbeth may not have gone through with the horrible murder of the king.
In the play Macbeth, Macbeth kills the king to become king and Lady Macbeth is clearly more responsible for the murder of King Duncan because she insults his courage and whips him into committing the murder. After the murder Macbeth is distressed that he has not been able to say “amen” at the end of prayers he had heard to men reciting (Berkley, 396). Lady Macbeth has been unsuccessful in trying to silence Macbeth’s conscience or silencing his concern with eternal things.
In regards to Duncan’s murder, Lady Macbeth demonstrates her tragic flaw in her conscious suppression of her muliebrity and her subconscious support of it. In Act I scene 5, she receives a letter from Macbeth. When she hears about the prophecy, she considers killing Duncan to gain power for the first time. Lady Macbeth is too gentle
Not much further in the play, we see that Macbeth decides not to murder Duncan but rather, carry on serving as his Thane. However, Lady Macbeth starts her persuasion again, but this time she questions his manhood, saying "When you durst do it, then you were a man: And to be more then what you were you would be so much more the man." (1.7.49-51). Had she not challenged his manhood and his love for her, he would not have usurped the throne and she would not have become a Queen. Not only did she get him to think about the murder, she even knew what to say after he had started thinking about the murder.

In Macbeth, Shakespeare examines the significance of time in the form of one’s present and future through the unfortunate character of Macbeth. Macbeth is an ordinary soldier, loyal to the king as the Thane of Glamis, prior to his meeting with the three witches. The three witches reveal to Macbeth his future “All, hail Macbeth! Hail to three, Thane of Cawdor! All, hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!” (1.3. 49-50). For the most part one does not know his or her own future. Our futures are uncertain and predictions like these do not always come true, yet Shakespeare has set Macbeth up in a way that he knows these predictions will come true. Not long after the witches state their claims

Macbeth rejects conformation to traditional gender roles in its portrayal of Lady Macbeth’s relationship with her husband, her morals and their effect on her actions, and her hunger for power. Her regard for Macbeth is one of low respect and beratement, an uncommon and most likely socially unacceptable attitude for a wife to have towards her spouse at the time. She often ignores morality and acts for the benefit of her husband, and subsequently herself. She is also very power-hungry and lets nothing stand in the way of her success. Lady Macbeth was a character which challenged expectations of women and feminism when it was written in the seventeenth century.
When anything in life first begins to grow, it begins as a seed. The seed of a plant, or of a thought, or of an idea. Once created, the seed can do one of two things. It can grow, or it can die. Shakespeare’s play Macbeth tells the story of an innocent man who is turned evil from the seeds planted by those around him, allowing readers to explore the repetition of growth and how it is implied through characters. Throughout the play, growth is used to display Macbeth and Banquo as foil characters, show Banquo’s “goodness” through positive imagery, and to show Macbeth’s “evilness” through negative growth imagery. By analyzing Shakespeare’s use of growth imagery, critical readers recognize that growth enforces the idea that growth triumphs evil, embodied in the actions and consequences of Macbeth and Banquo as they make one of two crucial choices? Good, or evil?
away if she isnt grateful for the food that she has recieved. Katharine eventually thanks her husband, but still does not get enough food to satisfy her hunger. Katharine is then told by his “loving” husband to get ready in her best outfit to meet his dad at his house. The tailor then enters the scene, and Petruchio sends the man to get a bigger cap than he initially brought for his wife. Katharine told Petruchio that she is able to talk for herself, and shows more of a dominant role in the relationship that was not initially expressed before. Then, although Katherine thinks highly of the dress, Petruchio fires the tailor after complaining about the dress that he made. Petruchio decides that it is what’s on the inside that counts, and announces
Lady Macbeth was more hungry for the crown than her vulnerable husband Macbeth. So, Lady Macbeth had no patience over killing King Duncan after she realized he was an obstacle that was blocking Macbeth to become the “king that shalt be” (Shakespeare 1.5.9–10). Therefore, she decided to kill King Duncan when he is asleep, and then put the blame on “his spongy officers” (1.7.72). However, Macbeth felt guilty for having a thought of killing the king after the king has honored him during the dinner, so he decided to not go on with Lady Macbeth's plan. After witnessing Macbeth behaving “like the poor cat i' th' adage,” Lady Macbeth provoked him by questioning his gender identity (1.7.46).
Macbeth like any other other tragic hero has a flaw that ultimately will lead to his downfall. Macbeth is too ambitious which causes him to overlook doing the what is best for his kingdom. If Macbeth did not have a flaw he would not be considered a tragic hero because by definition a tragic hero is destined for failure. Macbeth is a tragic hero because he was noble, motivated, and determined. To begin, Macbeth is a tragic hero because of his great nobility.

I. A. Ray Kroc once said, “ The quality of a leader is reflected in the standards they set for themselves.” B. Macbeth was written by William Shakespeare and was first performed in 1606. Born in April of 1564 to John Shakespeare and Mary Arden during the Elizabethan era, William Shakespeare grew up experiencing a quiet childhood in a small town of Warwickshire called Stratford. His mother, Mary, was the daughter of a wealthy landowner from a neighboring village, while his father, John, was a middle-class glove-maker and farm produce trader. John also held a number of responsible positions in Stratford's government and served as its mayor in 1569. William was the third oldest of eight children in his household. Rather than attending university (due to financial issues), he married Ann Hathaway at the young age of eighteen. She was eight years his senior. Together, they had three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. Ann lived for another seven years after William’s untimely death at age fifty-two.
Macbeth and King Lear are tragedies because one or more people die and the play usually has a sad ending. The tragedies are alike because multiple people die in each play. In Macbeth, Macdonwald, Duncan, the king’s two guards, Banquo, Lady Macduff and her family, and Young Siward are all killed. In King Lear, Cornwall, Oswald, Regan, Gloucester, Goneril, Edmund, Cordelia, Cordelia’s executioner, and King Lear all die. They are different because in Macbeth, he started off not evil, but then Lady Macbeth convinces him to kill Macdonwald, which causes him to keep on being evil and the 3 witches encourage him killing people, causing him to go crazy. In King Lear, he started off evil and always fishing for compliments, so when he asked for his three daughters to tell him how much they loved him and that would determine who gets how much when he dies. However, Cordelia ends up saying that she loves him as much as a daughter should love a father, no more and no less. She then says that she can’t devote all of her love to him because she will owe devotion to her husband when she gets married and can’t put all of her love to her father. He then banishes her and divides the kingdom into two for Regan and Goneril. So, really, he started off as evil in the play.
