Think back to an experience that had a significant effect on your life. Describe the experience, why it was so impactful, and how your life is different today because of it. In 2001 I was 8 years old and was living in Jamaica for the past 3 years. Living in Jamaica has impacted my life in so many ways, For example not having running water pipes to take a simple shower can change a person's outlook on life its self. This made me realize all the little things I was taking for granted back home in New York. Everyone goes through an experience in their life that either made them better or worst person today. The line to get water that day was long and hectic. As I wait in line in the blazing hot sun with a white heavy plastic bucket, while sweat dripped off my forehead was just excruciating. A few minutes later It was a relief when we finally reached the water pipe to fill up our containers. My sister and I help our cousins fill up two blue plastic barrel with water while other people wait patiently behind us for the one and only water pipe. As we finally finished filling up our containers with water we started heading back down the hill. I thought going up that hill was a challenge, but I can tell you going back down was not easy either. Walking with that big white bucket filled with water I just don’t know how I did not fall down. We decided to take a short cut through an empty field that had low cut grass and barb wires at the entrance. The barb wires were placed so low that if you were not looking and paying attention you would have definitely cut your foot or ankles. Finally, we reached back to my place, I was glad to drop that white bucket on the ground and take a seat and cool off a little bit. These simple but productive life experiences I would never forget. Not being able to have the simplest resource like water that everyone needs can change a person whole outlook on life. Living in Jamaica for three years has made an impacted on my life in a good

As my family and I walked into the plane, we were excited. The plane ride to jamaica stopped in L.A. and, after that, it went to jamaica. When we arrived in Jamaica it was really hot, but it was wet. I immediately took off my sweater I was wearing on the plane. We took a bus to our hotel. Then we started swimming in the water park. Every night there was a show in the main stage. The next day we woke up early to go to chukka. It was awesome. We saw a great house, rode on horses, and did a challenge course. After we came back from Chukka, we went to the water park and swimming pool at the hotel. Then we ate at fresh, which we went most of the time. The next day we woke up earlier to go to the dolphin cove. The bus was an hour late, but the wait

When I first moved to America I had many difficult, but positive life changing experiences. My parents, five sisters, four brothers, and I were all very nervous and excited to start a new life. I had many life changing experiences when it was my first time in an airport, starting school to learn a new language, and moving to Lincoln, Nebraska.
Each of us had learned something from that trip. For me, this experience has taught me what gratitude is, the impact a good attitude has, what a servant looks like, and really how the relationships we make with our life are the most important aspect of life. It was the summer after my freshman year of high school. Earlier in the year, my parents had decided that they wanted to go on a mission trip as a family and serve somewhere.

The Caribbean region extends from Barbados in the East, Trinidad and Tobago in the South, to the Bahamas in the North and Cuba in the West (Edwards, 2013, Unit 10 ). A rich cultural heritage is one of the regions most prized possessions, dear to the heart of its people. Merriam-Webster(2013) defines culture as “the beliefs, customs, arts, etc., of a particular society, group, place, or time”
The inhabited islands clustered in the Caribbean Sea are an interesting study in cultural and social identity. Colonized by european powers from the Fifteenth Century, the Caribbean islands have become mixtures of cultures from Europe, Africa, and India, as well as from the original inhabitants of the islands. As a result, describing and defining the Caribbean is a much more difficult task than it appears on the surface. The norms and ideas of identity and history that exist on one island are vastly different than those that exist on a near neighbor, despite similarities in geography and history.
