some people may find that listening to music is a disruption to them, it also makes it hard for them to concentrate but for some people it helps them with focusing, remembering, and keeping on task. Many people say that music takes stress off their mind and hearts by focusing on something else, such as work or other things. Music has been shown to help kids with ADD/ADHD to concentrate better on the work that they must do and help keeping their minds off distractions. Many kids have issues at home or social issues at school that may keep them up throughout the night and by listening to music it can keep them up during the day, instead of feeling the need of putting down their heads and taking a quick nap during class. Teachers hate the use of electronic during class because they think that students may be using them to cheat and get answers from a friend more simply and easily. …show more content…
Music is shown to help you focus. Music keeps the environment you are working in quieter because if everyone is listening to music they won't have time to talk to each other and create disruptions. that also brings up another issue, that if students get so focused on their music it will eventually make them to become anti-social? Students say that listening to music gives them a common interest for them to talk about with others when, of course, they are not listening to their electronics. For the people who can't keep their minds off issues they have or family problems music seems to be the perfect solution to their
When a child is diagnosed with autism, one thing that is noted is the lack of eye contact. Music therapy works to help this in numerous ways. When the therapist starts at the child’s level, according to the British Colombian Music therapy association, they can base what needs to be done and how to do it off of where the child is and after many sessions, where they are now (M-7). According to a report in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, “Eye contact – this refers to an event where child looks at therapist while playing, manipulating” (E-7).
Qualitative and quantitative methods allow researchers to investigate, explore and inquire the nature of the phenomenon being studied. It is important that the researcher develops a clear understanding of the problem and design a plan to investigate it (Cresswell, 1998, para. 1). There are a variety of research methods; nevertheless, it is important to consider which research method is appropriate for the study. Qualitative research focuses on human experiences while quantitative research relies on numbers, measurements, and testing. Nevertheless, qualitative and quantitative methods use similar approaches to conduct research and collect data. For example, observations and interviews are approaches used in both research designs; however, the approaches are used and viewed otherwise. This will be discussed later in the paper.
Hearing and playing music is good for you. Especially playing. There is even math involved in playing music. Music is uplifting. It teaches multitasking. Marching and playing at the same time. Marching backwards while playing. Marching sideways while facing forward and playing....
Music education can help students with their mental health and cope with possible mental illness. A very important tool in today’s society where more and more young adults are being diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorders. The growing epidemic of mental illnesses is still growing rapidly to the United States. By implementing a music credit requirement school districts can prevent the rate at which mental illnesses form and develop. It may also help reduce physical pain and be able to treat minor heart conditions. Music may also assist the children with their school subjects. Music makes it easier for students to understand and interpret school work and focus on what is important in their academic studies. Music also helps students with the multiple standardized testing that is prominant in school systems today.
There have always been discussions of the effects music has on ones behavior, and how it’s related to Psychology. The truth has never really been verified among common knowledge, but it’s usually something that intrigues people. They say heavy metal and rap can make teenagers violent, sad and depressing music can make teenagers sad and depressed, and some say it’s best to listen to classical music when doing schoolwork because it makes your brain more active. There have been many people that reported how music has effects on their behavior. It can lift their mood, “fuel the fire” when they’re angry, or even make it easier for them to fall asleep. People never really get the chance to research the actual science of music, and how it changes people attitudes.

Having music in your life is very important. Music is one of the most powerful things in the world today. Many people make a lot of money making music because of its popularity. It may not be the same genre of music, but everybody likes it. Personally music helps me from day to day. When I am stressed I listen to it to calm me down. When I am sad I listen to it to make me happy. When my spirit is down I listen to gospel to bring it back up. Without music I do not know what I would do. I believe that there is music for every person and problem they may have. It helps me, and I know it will help
Music is one of the few things that has remained constant through the centuries this world has existed. Not only does music provide entertainment, it also has several effects linked to it. Music allows emotions of happiness and sadness to arise. From those emotions, physical effects, negative or positive, can occur. Music has a profound effect on the emotional, social, intellectual, and physical aspects of a person.
...usic from the Internet. Music can be performed for entertainment, act as a stress relief, and enhance academic behavior.
The most enticing stories clearly establish the protagonist early on, but the same cannot be said about the real world. Common people have struggles to overcome in life, but there is not always a hero to save them from their battles. Due to the lack of a “hero,” or cure in its purest form, researchers are forced to search for therapy techniques that can make life bearable. An unlikely and fairly recent discovery is the effect of music therapy on patients with disabilities, or “battles.” Scientists may have doubted music therapy initially because it seems slightly unorthodox; however, evidence now lies on the defense of music therapy for learning disabilities, mental disabilities, and psychological disabilities.
Even when children learn music they able to listen, sing, dance, create movement. Listening to music draw out emotions, and playing music can be just like communicating emotions. Some people find this a very powerful experience. “ Music enriches the lives of students and should be considered a necessary part of education.”
For some people, music serves as a distraction, but this does not apply for everyone. It should also be recognized that music helps keep the brain relaxed, happy, and alert(“Listening to music while you study makes you smarter” par. 5). As stated in an article "Music and Learning" on thelearningweb.net website, "Music relaxes the mind and lowers stress levels that inhibit learning” (qtd. in Petersen par. 2).“Ms. JenniferEllingson, a teacher at Floyd Dryden Middle School says, "Music is the best thing ever created. Music can be relaxing, because it helps you forget about things that are stressful and help you to focus” (Petersen par. 3).
Music has incredible effects on the brain and body! Ever since the beginning of time, music has been around. It can influence the way a person thinks and behaves, and also social interactions. Teens are more susceptible to this (Revatto 1). Music can be used in therapy by helping people with depression, and can even be a more natural way to heal the body (“How Music...” 1). In some cases, songs and melodies can help or make diseases worse. Music is a powerful thing and can affect your brain and many other things in your body in numerous ways.
Think back on a time when you experienced something stressful. How did you cope with it? Recall a time when you needed to relax. What did you use to help you? Chances are your answers involve music. The desire to play music while working, studying, or even relaxing is universal. Whether playing the music, singing along, or just listening, music can have many positive effects that aren’t often recognized. Music is unique in its ability to stimulate more than just one brain hemisphere, incorporating both the right and left sides of the brain. Because both sides of the brain are being affected, there are both creative and analytical benefits to making music part of daily routines. It’s no secret that listening to or playing music is enjoyable, but studies have proven that music can boost more than just your mood.
Also, music plays an important role in culture by being entertaining. Let's face it; people listen to music because it's exciting! It can affect a person's thoughts and feelings towards a particular subject, but not ultimately change their mind, which is what makes it so pleasurable. What else would put life in the world if music didn't? Music provides background music for almost everything in a person's everyday life. Try to imagine what television would be like without music. There would be no catchy jingles to stupid commercials that would end up getting stuck in your head for days and no theme songs to your favorite shows. Even a movie without sound would make you not want to watch it. Whether you think so or not, a soundtrack to a movie makes a person emote to the screenplay more- it makes you feel what the actors are feeling. That is what makes it so entertaining! If there were no songs to a movie, you might as well just not watch it at all. And what about a cell phone? How would you know when to pick up your phone if you didn't hear it ring your favorite song? Hearing that ring tone on a phone provides a small source of entertainment, but also serves a very important purpose.
