from concentrating. Agitations will not only keep you from doing the work, but say you do complete the assignment. Your work might be completed incorrectly caused by the various distractions around you. Boredom can keep you from wanting to accomplish anything.
While at work, when you have to work on a certain assignment that causes you boredom, you don’t want to keep on going. You keep on checking the time every couple of minutes, wanting the day to simply come to an end. Music can help with that. Playing music that motivates you or simply keeps you willing to work will help you. Listening to music is a good way to get back in the mood to work and forget about the time. When you least expect it you finished your assignment or it time to go home. I work at Panera Bread, when needed I am set to wash dishes in the back, a job that I really don’t enjoy. I put on some music and I start washing dishes, the music puts me in a “working mood” helping me lose track of time and get the job
done. Trying to finish an assignment under pressure and in a limited amount of time can and will cause stress. When stressed, it will seem almost impossible to be able to finish because all one thinks about is the small amount of time they have to finish the task. A way to get rid of some of that stress is by simply listening to music you find relaxing. Getting rid of stress will allow you to think more clearly, and enable you to advance at a faster pace. My senior year of high school I had to write an eight page research paper. I didn’t start it until the day before it was due which had me extremely stressed out. I had no idea where to even start. It took me almost a whole hour to finally stop thinking about time I had and the consequences that would come with me not finishing a paper that was a graduation requirement. I put on some music that helped me calm down, I began to write and surf the internet for information. Thanks to my music, I finished it in about 6 hours. Listening to music is a productive activity that can enhance your concentration to complete certain tasks. You can avoid being distracted by people and noises around you when you’re working on homework, studying, at work, etc. by listening to music. Not only can music help you ignore distractions, but it can also put you in the mood to get your work done and avoid falling into a lazy mood. When in a stressful situation, such as having a short amount of time to finish the job, music also helps one relax allowing you to accomplish more work at a faster pace in a short amount of time. Therefore, listening to music is a very helpful and productive activity that can benifit in various situations.
In “How we listen to music” by Aaron Copland from McGraw-Hill What to Listen for in Music (1988), the author has organised the listening process so that it had been split into three parts: the sensuous place, the expressive plane, and the sheerly musical plane. Aaron Copland thesis is that each plane of listening has its own function and advantages and knowing about them can help us enhance our listening experience. The purpose of Copland’s essay is to educate his readers on the three main ways people listen to music, and to inspire readers to listen in a more compound way. In the authors casual analysis, Copland tries to for sees his readers’ questions and objections at many points in the essay. He includes the thoughts of his readers to
A typical corrido is defined as a lyrical narrative that consists of eight quatrains with four to six lines. However, the significance does not lie within its musical structure; rather it is shown through its lyrics. The corrido depicts historical events; not through informing its listeners, but strives to use interpretation as a bridge of communication. The lyrics express topics from love and immigration to drug trafficking and malicious events. The Mexican community is able to emotionally connect with the lyrics materializing a sense of identity and pride - preserving historical and malicious events and cultures that have sentiment value.

Form gives organization to sounds. It refers to the overall structure or plan of a piece of music. It is with the patterns, motifs, and cadences contained within form that help make music enjoyable to listen to. In Roger Scruton’s “Aesthetics of Music” Scruton states in Ch. 10 that form relies on two concepts, deep structure or linear and hierarchal order. Deep structure is the concept that most organized sounds have an underlying form. Deep Structure exists within language particularly in the study of syntax. In language deep structure is a theoretical concept that unifies other structures. An example of this would be how the sentences “Max loves Sara” and “Sara is loved by Max” mean the same thing and use similar wording.
Personally, I have found that listening to music has been very beneficial to my educational experience. It has helped me immensely whilst studying subjects such as Math and English. For instance, last year in my Creative Writing class, we were assigned the task of writing a script for a play. The teacher was reluctant to grant us access to our music, but with promises of good behavior from the students, she eventually capitulated to our requests. Not thinking much about it at the time, I popped in my earbuds, put my playlist on shuffle, and began to write. By the end of the class period, I had come close to completing my task, and when
Music in my life is really has become a positive thing. I get to relax when I am stressed out, or it gets me pumped up before I do something that would be hard for me or that would need a lot of work for me to do. If I am studying, I would listen to music that is calming with lyrics or with a very good beat such as dubstep. When I am really stressed out with school, I like to lie down and listen to alternative music such as Fall Out Boy, Cage the Elephant, or Twenty One Pilots to calm me
myself to listen to 15 Jazz CD’s in a week and a half, so I
I also listen to music to help me focus when I am working. I usually play chill-step music like Blackmill that helps me focus and concentrate. This type of music really helps block out the distractions and noise in my house. Finally, I listen to music with my daughter. We
A common theme that runs through the songs of 20-year-old Callum Burrows, better known as Saint Raymond, is that of youth and growing up. This theme is particularly apparent in Burrows’ song “As We Are Now”, which he has explained to be about a time period in his life during which all of his friends were beginning to move away for university or to begin their career and he was still at home, whilst Burrows himself decided after attending college for merely one lesson that he wanted to pursue a career as a musician and quickly dropped out (The Telegraph, 2014). He has also claimed that it is one of his favourite songs he has written due to the personal meaning and connection he has with it. Aiming to be successful in the music industry can be scary for any music artists but particularly so for someone so young that is unsure of what their alternative route would be, whilst watching friends they have grown up with going off to do completely different
For some people, music serves as a distraction, but this does not apply for everyone. As stated in an article "Music and Learning" on thelearningweb.net website, "Music relaxes the mind and lowers stress levels that inhibit learning” (qtd. in Petersen par. 2).“Ms. JenniferEllingson, a teacher at Floyd Dryden Middle School says, "Music is the best thing ever created. The desire to play music while working, studying, or even relaxing is universal. Whether playing the music, singing along, or just listening, music can have many positive effects that aren’t often recognized. Because both sides of the brain are being affected, there are both creative and analytical benefits to making music part of daily routines. It’s no secret that listening to or playing music is enjoyable, but studies have proven that music can boost more than just your mood.
In today's day and age, music may also act as a therapeutic outlet for some people.
