• First, I will be talking a little bit about Lil Kim’s background. Lil Kim was born and raised in Brooklyn New York, with a little brother. She attended catholic school, but she did not end up finishing because of her personal situations she was dealing with at home. Her parents divorced when she was only nine years old, which left her in her father’s custody. Lil Kim had a bad relationship with her father, and once tried to stab him with a pair of scissors. Lil Kim’s role in the music industry affected thousands of people, music wise and also with her fashion. I will be discussing the role she played in the music industry and how it affected many others.

b. Lil Kim had changed the hip-hop scene by entering a male-dominated genre Junior M.A.F.I.A that was led by Biggie Smalls. According to bio, Lil Kim was introduced to the world in the song “Player’s Anthem” based on her deep voice, provocative language, fashion and sex appeal from a small petite woman, audiences automatically started to love her.

c. Based on my research, I am credible to state that Lil Kim later had started her solo career and came out with her debut album “Hard Core” with a few of her hit singles such as “Crush on You” and “No Time” in 1996.
d. According to Baker's Biographical Dictionary of Popular Musicians Since 1990, her first album was successful, her fans loved her raw, unapologetic style of rapping, which was much more gritty and vulgar than female MCs of the past like MC Lyte and Queen
