As we read the assigned readings, we get to learn the meaning of some key-isms. However, the two main key-isms I will be focusing on are liberalism and conservatism. Liberalism is considered to be a political philosophy founded on ideas of liberty and equality. Liberalism stresses the supreme value of the individual. The Great Society was a legislative program that would create higher standard of living, equal opportunity, and better quality of life for all Americans. The Great Society brought about a wave of liberal reforms that affected American society. Conservatism is the domination of society by an aristocracy.
