A liberal arts education is not something everyone thinks of as valuable. An education in liberal arts is about developing abilities and a broader understanding of intellectual ideas, instead of focusing on specific skills. Although people generally believe that liberal arts only focuses on subjects such as, literature, philosophy, languages, or even topics like history, it is much more diverse and applicable to real life than educational programs that focus on specific skill sets. Liberal Arts provides more than just a degree, it is the basis for education itself. It teaches many skills such as comprehension, evaluation, analysis, and communication. Without these skills we as individuals would not be able to understand, communicate, or reason with not only ourselves but other people. Accumulating information and understanding it would not be possible without comprehension skills, and without the other skills we would not be able to communicate efficiently. Liberal arts is founded upon the basic skills humanity needs in order to run efficiently. Those who are more adaptable to and welcome change thrive in today’s rising jobs in the high-pressure situations that it come with them. A liberal arts education is valuable because it so widely applicable. Unlike subjects that only give a certain degree, lIberal arts degrees can be used in a multitude of jobs and ways. Liberal arts opens windows of opportunity for people to see how much of a difference they can make in the world.
