Recommended: Persistence is the key to success

Grit! Let us be gritty. Grit is like a guide on how to overcome an immense struggle, or a thief attempting to deprive a family of life, prosperity and personal belongings. It is also recognized as a driving force that distinguishes stars from ordinary human beings. In the dictionary, grit means unyielding courage in the face of danger or hardship. Angela Duckworth, a Harvard researcher, found that the more grit a student possesses, the more successful they will be. Gritty students show resilience by overcoming hardships, thus, making them crave success. Duckworth’s argument that the more gritty students are, the more success they will attain is based solely based upon various tests such as: family income, standardized testing, how safe the student feels, etc. Because my own grit has provoked me to pick a fight with poverty, I am in arbitrary accordance with Duckworth, and I choose to …show more content…
