In the article The Flip Side of Internet Fame by Jessica Bennett, Internet harassment is thoroughly made aware to inform active social network users of its solemnity. Real life scenarios of people who suffered from public humiliation or social desecration are presented. Bennett makes her argument conclusive by addressing her audiences' pathos and ethos appeal, sourcing credible individuals throughout the article and stressing the agony and ignominy that the listed individuals perceived. Furthermore, the author demonstrates how critical it is to be conscious about the possibility of not recovering from a fatal encounter on a social network and also raises the question: “What's to stop a person from posting whatever he wants about you, if he can do so anonymously and suffer no repercussions?”(115). Bennett tries to enlighten the reader of “the dark side of Internet fame”(113), showing how publicity may not always be marvelous.
1. I think your essay was not written too informally at all. It was relatable in a way that wasn't so casual. I not only understood where you were coming from with your arguments but I also found an agreement in what your overall takeaway was. It was a message that was not harsh in the sense of being a horrible human being but in regaining the strength and social status of society itself.

I believe that it is important to delete cyberbullying because once it's on the internet is will always be on there. Knowing that someone has said horrible things about you is not how you should go on with your day. Cyberbully can make teens do awful actions towards themselves. Some kids will drink alcohol, or smoke mairjana until they forget that they are being bullied in the first place. Cyberbullying can also have the effect of low self-esteem on teenagers. If a girl for instance commented on a photo calling you fat it will help you form a negative opinion about yourself. You might stop eating and slowly starve yourself to death. Cyberbullying needs to stop because it can actually save lives.

Free speech is both a universal and national liberty. The United Nations and the United States of America believe that free speech is something that humans should be allowed to exercise. However, each respective group has their own limitations. These limitation, although broad, protect against free speech being taken too far. The United Nations formed "The Universal Declaration of Human Rights." With in this declaration are 40 articles with a preamble examining the rights which they believe are basic and necessary. Article 19 from this declaration says, "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers."

Cyber bullying is a huge problem in the USA, so why not stop it now by making it a criminal offense? Cyberbullying should be a criminal offense because whether it’s bullying or cyberbullying, it still damages a person emotionally and physically. It should also be a criminal offense because kids, teens and even adults take their lives or lead a miserable one because of the harsh words of another person or group. Laws concerning cyberbullying tend to be vague, but with criminal offense, the government can crack down what exactly should be considered bullying and what will be punished, making things easier to regulate, and even ending cyberbullying once and for all. Cyberbullying is still a type of bullying that harms people, kills and scars their lives, and too strong for puny laws, but it can come to an end with criminal offense.
