3,000 people dead after an act of terrorism. November 11th, 2001 is a day Americans will never forget. The twin towers in New York were hit by planes that were hijacked. 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda carried out this attack. They hijacked four planes. Two of them hit the twin towers, one hit the pentagon and the fourth one crashed in Pennsylvania. This terrorist attack changed America (9/11 Attacks). Many people felt many different emotions and Leonard Pitts Jr. writes about this in an essay. In his essay “Sept. 12, 2001: We’ll go forward from this moment” Leonard Pitts Jr. describes in detail how this tragedy affected the people of the United States. But you are about to learn.” From this the reader can come to the conclusion that the United States is going to fight back. The people of America will not be attacked and not fight back. He is saying that Americans will fight back and things will not be good for the terrorist group.
