I am amazed because everything I have done before is what this book is telling us to do so, although, after some time I had realized what my teacher really wanted me to accomplish was to be able to think in English anything I had in mind by speaking out. Curiously, in this book there are some expressions that tell you how to improve your pronunciation such as:
“THE MORE YOU PRACTICE THE BETTER”
“PRACTICE MAKES MASTER”
I have done this one way or the other, and I do not think I will be able to stop. Also in the book shows us some listening and reading exercises to upgrade this vowel problems.
VOWEL PROBLEMS
DIPHTHONG Is the combination of two vowel sounds. It begins as one vowel and ends as another.
ARTICULATORS Are the different parts of the mouth area that we use when speaking, such as the lips, tongue, teeth, and jaw.
The various vowel sounds are affected by the changing shape and position of your articulators. The different vowels are created by:
o The position of your tongue in the mouth.
o The shape of your lips.
o The size of your jaw opening.

This book explains how to pronounce the phonetic alphabet, the vowels, the consonants, etc., by giving some examples through a tape that comes along with it.

Personally, I consider my pronunciation is fairly good. Regardless, I have chosen some links in which we can practice the exercises above mentioned, just in case we have some doubts, if we want to practice some sounds, and improve our pronunciation without having to buy those books.

In the Vietnamese language, there is a range of 19 to 21 consonant phonemes, which differs in result of how a word is pronounced. A consonant such as “/p/” only comes about when a word is borrowed from the French language. Other consonants experience more pronunciation such as “/tʰ/”, which occurs when there is an exhale of air that is followed by the words release. The Vietnamese language is also made up of 72 vowels. Technically, there are 12 vowels in the Vietnamese language. However, the language consists of six tones which therefore leads to a total of 72 distinct vowels. (Thompson 2013).
Every time my parents read to me, I tried to say the words along with them. As a result, anytime I had problems pronouncing a word, my mother made me sound the word out until I sounded it correctly. She told me to take each word, syllable by syllable.
Examples are the different diphthong, vowels, and when the letter “r” is pronounced. The diphthong in SAE are different from the British English. The British English’s diphthong is changed to [əʊ] from SAE’s diphthong [oʊ]. This is shown by how Jack pronounces “moment”. He says it as /məʊənt/ instead of SAE’s pronunciation being /moʊmənt/. The word “pirate” is pronounced /paɪərɪt/ by Sparrow. SAE pronounces it /pajrət/. The sound /r/ does not change, even when it is before a vowel or consonant. The words “gone” shows how the vowel [ɔ:] is transitioned to vowel [ɒ]. This is shown when Jack pronounces the word “gone” by /gɒn/ while SAE pronounces it

My other subject, I first encountered her when another of my housemates brought her to the house and we both ended up speaking in Spanish. There are two articulators that combine in the production of a consonant : an active organ (articulator) which is a movable one that moves towards the second organ (articulator) which is a passive one (or unmovable one) to form a blockage in the passage of the airstream and cause an audible friction. This blockage may be complete or partial (Omar, 1997:132-135). Since, there is a complete blockage at some points in the vocal tract i.e. , the oral cavity, nasal articulation requires a free passage of airstream which is the nose (i.e., the nasal cavity) (Robins, 2014: 84).
