They were forced to endure unspeakable horrors on their trek across the Atlantic as well as when they were finally sold into slavery in the Americas. Olaudah Equiano was one of the few Africans to document his experience on paper, and have his two volume autobiography published. The journey Olaudah suffers through showed the horrors of the trip across the atlantic, but also showed how what he thought and felt about the process as well.
A major characteristic of New York style pizza is that it is hand tossed. It has a thin crust that is crispy on
I have recently read “Spaghetti” by Cynthia Rylant. It is a story about a little boy named Gabriel who seems to be very lonely. Then he finds a little kitten that he names Spaghetti, and his loneliness disappears! I think the big idea of the story is that sometimes, little things can change the way you see things. I saw this when Gabriel wanted to live outside, but he then didn’t after he found the kitten, when he was thinking about a bunch of things but then he heard the purring and stopped thinking to go look for it and when he was about to go look for the kitten’s owner but then he heard the kitten’s purring and wanted to keep him.

Pizza My Heart is one of the most successful pizza restaurant businesses in the Bay area. Founded in 1981, this family-owned business soon became a favorite place for the surfers and beachgoers, and grew into a chain that operates at eighteen locations in northern California. As it emphasized in the mission statement that they want the highest quality in pizza and service, Pizza My Heart is well known for its freshness and taste. Its strategy to source food with more natural and local ingredients and less processing worked when it was awarded “Best in the Silicon Valley” for being the best pizza of the year in 2006 and 2007 from tews.com.
TP has grown from a single store in 1988 to the largest pizza chain in Spain. At the end of 1997 they had 399 stores and an estimated market share of 62% in Spain. But what made it so successful? There are several reasons for that in the TP concept:
An Italian American criminal organization that was started and created from the Sicilian Mob. All the members of the family generally considered it as Cosa Nostra. These Sicilian crime families in the U.S. developed in Italian migrant neighborhoods of New York. It additionally rose in different parts of the East Coast of the U.S. and a few other metropolitan territories amid the late nineteenth century and mid twentieth Century taking after influxes of Italian migration, particularly from Sicily and different areas of Southern Italy. It has its roots in the Sicilian Mafia, yet is a different association in the United States. Neapolitan, Calabrian, and other Italian criminal organizations in the U.S., in the end converged with
There’s a lot more to being Italian than the typical stereotypes that we have come to know from movies, television and books. From the Catholic mobsters who kill during the week but always make it to mass on Sunday, to the “how you doin” views of Joey from the television show “Friends”, people often forget the more important parts of being Italian. It is a culture like no other, full of history, art, and most importantly, their passion for food. Italian food, in my opinion, is the best in the world. Italians put so much into everything they make that the time and effort is tasted with every single bite. One of my favorite dishes would have to be fettuccini alfredo and it just happens to be a fairly easy, but extremely delicious, dish to make. Trust me, if I can make it, you can make it.
Making espresso, cappuccino, cafe latte or plain coffee is an art form. It takes a skilled artist to make coffee worth appreciating. Many people cannot make coffee. The methods for brewing coffee may differ, but the coffee must be satisfying. There are many factors that decide whether a the coffee is satisfactory.
Instead of just water, chicken broth is used to add more flavor to it. Before the pasta is added a bean puree is made from a spoonful of the mixture and then its added to the pot. Then after everything is cooked it can finally be served, and cheese could be added depending on someone's liking. Next is a dish that some people may have heard of already, Fettuccine Alfredo. This pasta dish is extremely creamy and flavorful.
The taste of a mushroom can easily ruin any otherwise delicious meal with its dirt flavored presence. Most times the flavor is bland and boring because there is nothing special about them and when the flavor is not bland it tastes like I put a dirty sock in my mouth. Every time my family and I order a pizza we always have to order more than one because I will not eat something that is even touching a mushroom. That fact I will not complain about because I love pizza and as long as there are no mushrooms I could eat a whole pie myself. Taste is the worst thing about mushrooms but it is not the only thing that I find wrong with
Weekly Writing Assignment 3 Italian Madrigal (16th Century) – The 16th century Italian madrigal was a setting of a short poem, was through-composed, and featured an equality across voice parts. The poems were often heroic or sentimental and, as the century progressed, became more sensual and in some cases erotic. Composers of the time aimed to write music that would communicate the ideas, images, and emotions of the poetry thus, putting a new emphasis on the text. Being through-composed, each line of text would receive a different musical idea, this technique would allow the composer to better reflect the sense and rhythm of the poetry. Composers would also use a mixture of homophonic and contrapuntal textures to further the emphasis on particular
The side walk cafes are very popular in Rome. The cafes were always populated with happy Italians and a few curious tourists. The most preferred cafe was the Cafe S. Petro. this cafe was in perfect walking distance from the Vatican city. The Vatica n city is were the pope lives. The main meals served at the cafes varied from pizza to tortillini. The pizzas were not exactly like Pizza Hut's pizza. They were crispy thin with very few toppings available. Most pizzas came with cheese, pepperoni and a watery tomato sauce. The tortillini had soft, medium-length, hollow noodles with more watery tomato sauce. Another favorite at the cafe was the lasagna which was unbelievably delicious. After having tasted the pizzas and the tortillini, I was not exp ecting the lasagna to be so tasty. The lasagna was packed full of hot meat, zesty cheese, and a tangy tomato sauce. It was not out of the ordinary to see Italians, instead of eating at the cafe, talking with their friends and sipping on hot cappucino.
