Throughout history agriculture has been the main source for food used to sustain and enhance human life. The history of agriculture dates back thousands of years and its development has been focused and defined by different climates, cultures and technologies.in Latin America different cultural groups developed various cropping approaches. Beans, Maize, and squash in Central America, maize and roots in the Andes and yucca and camote in the Caribbean.

All of these practices have been increasingly affected by colonization, modernization and globalization, which have replaced them with systems that promote agriculture. However, this wealth has not created the quality of life for Latin Americas peoples than it should. The origins of poverty in Latin America are quite complicated but its main origins come from a long history of authoritarian governments exploiting Latin America natural resources by very rich economies like Spain before their independence. These diverse farming systems fed millions of Americans five hundred years ago. Today they are largely demoted to the poorest 10% of agriculture, yet still generating about 45% of the regions livestock’s.

The application of information and communication technology(ICT) in agriculture is extremely important. It is an emerging field focusing on the enhancement of agriculture and rural development through improved information and communication processes. In Addition, we have expert systems which is a specific kind of information system in which computer software serves the same function expected of an expert. The computer is programmed to mimic the thought processes of experts, providing help with suggestions to solve particular problems and situations. Hoping to create computers increase our ability to learn and act as an expert allowing users to influence the knowledge of experts without requiring their presence.
