There had been various reports in the past, but they were all shut down. In 2016 one female gymnast made Nassar's abuse public, and over 150 girls came out and stated that Nassar sexually abused them. Nassar will now be spending the rest of his life in prison. https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/24/us/larry-nassar-sentencing/index.html What Nassar did was not right, and it went against a ton of societal norms. These girls were tricked into believing that what he was doing was okay. Robert Merton's theory states that a person may have the socially acceptable goal of financial success, but lack a
Can you imagine being convicted of first degree murder at only 17 years of age? Adnan Syed couldn't believe it either. In fact he was mortified when they charged him of brutally suffocating, his ex-girlfriend Hea Min Lee, to death. Adnan Syed was a pawn that the Baltimore detectives played with, a mere dupe to cast off as the true killer. Syed is like many Americans, he was never granted a fair trial. There is some actors that make Syed guilty, but perhaps it was just pure coincidence that got Adan wrapped up in this whole mess. Killbourne mentions, “Many boys grow up feeling that they are unmanly if they are not always “ready for action,” capable of and interested in sex with any woman who is available,” (285). The constant need for physical attention in pre-pubescent and teenage boys has always been in an issue that all generations have witnessed. Boys are pressured into lusty situations by their peers and peer pressure leads them in to what become habitual actions. Stalking, assault, affirmative action and other acts of degrading women are all actions that are completely avoidable when individuals are properly informed of consequences and how these actions can affect others, especially women. The news is a source filled with negative instances of gender-related which include domestic violence, rape, and many other violent
... athletes to do as they please. However he does not do a good job of being non-partisan. He leads his readers to believe the only group of people who would do such things are “jocks”. This bias is not true. The newspapers report that University fraternities, and secret societies are as likely, if not more likely, to commit these very same acts. He also leads the reader to believe that all athletes and athletic teams are similar. The impression he leaves about the majority of teams and their members is prejudicial and unfair. It is very unfortunate and disheartening that members of a community that were so highly reguarded, would commit such acts. It is even more disturbing to hear about the scenario leading up to the rape, and the community which produced these troubled young men. It is more important to look at why the events took place rather than who committed them, because ultimately the only innocent person involved is the victim, a mentally handicapped young girl, named Lesli Faber.
On January 12 1998 in Georgia, Deputy Kyle Dinkheller made a traffic stop for speeding car driving at 98 mphs. Placed inside his car was a dashboard camera, the incident was all captured. The video showed Brannan purposely provoking the deputy while Dinkheller continued to get him to “calm down” and arrest him. While the victim on this show was taken seriously and given a rape kit, she was still asked what she was wearing and whether or not she welcomed the man’s behavior with flirtation. These sorts of questions do touch on how many rape cases are biased against women and do not usually work in their favor. Also, motivational theories in sociology focus on social factors which drive a person to commit crimes (Wadsworth). In this case, the defense argues that the woman’s behavior, appearance, and attitude demonstrated that she wanted to have sex. As a result of these social factors and indicators, he to committed a deviant

Nick Wilde, born into a poor, single-parent household in 1982, was known by many as a "sly fox". He had much to overcome in his short life. The traditional view of Zootopians in the 1980's painted predators as aggressive and even savage group. As a young fox pup, he was bullied by a group of local prey after trying to join their Junior Rangers Troop. By the time he was a young adult, he began to see himself as the vicious predator they described. He turned to a life of crime; however, he made a complete turnaround in his last years. Briefly before his death, he became an officer at the ZPD. His service was unfortunately cut short when he became the victim of a shooting on January 20, 2017. He and partner Judy Hopps were

Bruce Nauman is one of the most distinguished, powerful, and multitalented American artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Although, his work is not easily defined by its mediums, techniques, or theses, its figure is central to the artwork. His art channels Post-Minimalism, as it blends ideas from Conceptualism, Minimalism, performance art, and video art. The widened interest in Marcel Duchamp in the 60s obviously influenced Nauman. From Nauman’s wordplay to the infusion of mockery and ludicrous tone, Duchamp’s influence is quite evident.
While all feminist theorists share a common focus on gender inequality, there are differing views on the source of the problem and the ultimate solution. Liberal Feminists Freda Adler and Rita argued that sociological factors, not physiology, best explain women’s criminality. There is a strong relationship between women’s emancipation and the increase in female crime rates. As women become more liberated and become more involved in full time jobs, they are more likely to engage in the types of crime that men commit. Thrasher, a leading exponent of the social disorganization perspective, felt that girls and women committed less crime because they were more closely supervised by boys and men. These arguments lacked any factual support.
