One of the number one causes for a failed relationship is the lack of communication. In order to understand each other, you need to learn to express your feelings and needs honestly.
In this chapter, you will learn:
• How to effectively communicate with your partner
• Why lack of communication can damage a relationship
• How men feel, how women feel
Men vs. Women
From my perspective and experience men have the most difficulty in expressing their feelings and communicating. It’s not meant to sound sexist, it’s just a fact. Men tend to bottle up their feelings which irritate women. However, they are also more simplistic when it comes to the way they feel. On the other hand, women are the opposite of men in some ways, and they’re very complex. They are the expressers of feelings; they will tell you how they feel about everything when it comes to their emotions. Okay, that’s not 100% true, so let me clarify. Women will express their good feelings, their sad feelings, and their angry feelings, but not in so many words. It takes practice, conditioning, and a lot of patience; a whole heck of a lot of patience. Firstly, you have to realize that you are both two different people involved in a joint union. Secondly, each of you has needs, desires, and wants. Let’s begin by reverting back to childhood. Children are taught at an early age to express what they need or want, even before they could talk. As babies, they cried when they were hungry, or tired, or needing a change. That was their form of communication, though not a very efficient form, it was effective at their age. Furthermore, for the parent, it was a constant guessing game. Just as babies, this form of communication can be compared to adults as well who don’t communicate effectively with their partners; it can also be a guessing
