Loyalty is a concept much praised by the world today. To most, loyalty is staying by one’s side through everything, or keeping a secret no matter its content. But loyalty is not always a good aspect of one's character. One should stay loyal in certain situations, but always know the boundaries of loyalty in other situations.Though loyalty can hold a friendship or relationship together, it can also cause people to be loyal to the wrong idea or person. For example, the worldwide known German leader Adolf Hitler had millions of people standing by his side and supporting his ideas. One’s best friend can keep one sane and jubilant. If one’s friend is in a hard situation, it is good to stay loyal to one’s friend, and be there for him or her instead of leaving him or her because his or her situation is hard. It is staying by one's side when they do right, and staying by one’s side when they do wrong, that is loyalty. But if one’s best friend is encouraging one to do something him or her do not wish to do, such as drugs, then one should not be loyal to his or her friend. Loyalty is not doing something one doesn’t want to do, just to keep one’s friends. Loyalty is helping one another out, staying by one’s side, and sharing mutual loyalty, not one way loyalty. A soldier is undeniably loyal. A soldier leaves his or her life behind them, to die in a war for his or her country. One does not simply just leave the war once it is time to fight. One stays until the end, until his or her end. This is a time when one should be completely loyal because this shows one’s true devotion to one’s country. But every situation involving loyalty has a line where loyalty turns into complete and utter devotion.
