Ketamine Hydrochloride is an anethetic developed in 1962 by Dr Calvin Stevens. In the 1960's and 1970's, it was used on the battlefields of the Vietnam War. It had a strong painkilling effect, that did not affect the patients breathing. It's currently used as a human anesthetic and in veterinary medicine, most commonly used on horses. In its illegal form, ketmine is used to get high or even used for drink spiking.
When illegally sold, Ketamine is usually a white powder, but can be made into a pill form or may also be in its original liquid form. The drug is odorless and tasteless, making it easier to spike drinks, which is why it is known as a "club drug." Ketamine goes by many different names, such as, Special K, K, Ket, kitkat, Super K, and many more. It' s a Class C drug, on the same level as marajuana, meaning that it is illegal to carry the drug and to take the drug. If you're caught with it, you risk getting a fine, or even prison time.
The effects of Ketamine vary depending on a persons height, weight, health, and the amount taken. When injected, the effects can occur within 30 seconds, up to 20 minutes when swallowed, and 5 to 10 minutes if snorted. With a low dose, a person can have feelings of being detached from their body, can have hallucinations and distorted perception, confusion, and have a hard time concentrating. They may also start to feel panicked and paranoid. Slurred speech, blurred vision, and lack of coordination, or the inability tio move may occur as well. With a higher dose, the effects of a lower does may be intensified while experiencing other effects such as drowsiness, temporary paralysis, depression, and amnesia. The person may have bizzare behaviors, increased saliva and body temperature, and a...

If there is no underlying reason, meaning that the personmay have only tried it because of peer pressure, then the person will learn how to say no, and how to stay away from people who could lead them down the wrong path. In group therapy, the person is surrounded by people who have gone through similar circumstances.
The last form of treatment is outpatient treatment. Most of the persons day will be spent in a treatment facility where they are taken care of and trained by a medical staff, kind of like inpatient treatment. The biggest difference between the two though, is that in outpatient treatment, the individual gets to go home at night.

Zoloft was first introduced to the United States in 1980’s. Another name for Zoloft is sertraline and is in a group of antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. At first Zoloft was made to treat major depressive disorder, but as the drug progressed over time it can now treat panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Zoloft is the most commonly used antidepressant because it works extremely well, it is safe, and its side effects are not as serious as other antidepressants.

At the beginning of the article a brief history of ketamine is given, describing its use as a anaesthetic during the Vietnam war in the 1960s, its use in veterinary medicine as a horse tranquiliser and its revolution as a drug of abuse in the dance scene in the 1990s. The article also mentions the side effects heavy users have experienced from using ketamine, mainly increased bladder and kidney damage. Furthermore, after a review by the Government’s Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, concerns have increased about this side effect, as patients have become very unwell needing a total bladder removal. Laurance mentions Robert Dunman, who describes ketamine as the “biggest breakthrough in depression research”. Professor Duman studied the effects of ketamine, which are meant to be triggering the release of glutamate, increasing and restoring the function of neuron synapses, which are reduced in patients with chronic depression. The article states that ketamine has shown to be able to increase mood levels with a single dose and effects lasting up to 10 days. Due to this Laurance sanctions ketamine’s potential use as a treatment for depression, mentioning that a third of patients with depression are not improving from current treatments available for depressio...
The phenomenon of Methamphetamine use and distribution is rising in our country. With this growing problem, the state of Kentucky is right at the top of the list. Manufacturing alone has more than tripled over the past four years, in the state of Kentucky. Given the rural areas and large vacant buildings, Kentucky has quickly become a breeding ground for Methamphetamine. A necessary additive for production anhydrous ammonia is available at many farm stores in the state. This phenomenon is largely costing the tax payers, as well as, putting our future generation in jeopardy. Given statistical data on the increased use and manufacturing, a definite problem is noted.
While sharing and caring provide the basis for support groups, there's one benefit from group therapy that patients can't overlook. Simply put, it's the building of trust in others to help when help is needed. While caught in the cycle of addiction, trust is not easily given. In fact, many people dealing with addiction are paranoid. The lost of trust in the people around them promotes a lonely existence. There's great benefit in knowing patients can find relief by discovering they can trust someone other than counselors and family.

Similarly, inferiority feelings may be challenged to offset the negative concepts and values that form the roots of social and emotional issues. Group therapy can facilitate the social context in which the participants may develop the sense of belonging and community. Some of the beneficial dynamics of the group are the identification between group members’ behavior, participants can benefit from others group members’ feedback, ability to help other and receive support from others members. The group enables the possibility of trying new behaviors and encourages the other students to take action over their lives. There are four stages in group therapy that correspond to four goals in counseling: first establishing and maintaining interconnected relationships with another student of the group; the therapy is based on the idea of equality between members, mutual respect, and identical involvement. The introduction of self-rule bases from the counselor, who is the mediator, is important. Both, students and counselor work together in the process to explore and look for positive change during the sessions (Corey,

Acetaminophen serves one basic purpose, to relieve pain. It is the main ingredient in pain killers that relieve headaches. It also substitutes anesthesia in circumcision surgery because anesthesia often cannot be used on infants. Dr. Michael Weitzman and 2 other doctors performed an experiment on an infant to test the effectiveness of the drug. The results were not identical, but there were increases in heart rate respiratory rate and crying. But the drug did more good as a pain reliever after the surgery than before the surgery.
These effect will appear a few hours after usage and disappear in hours or days: Physical effects like, numbness, muscle weakness and trembling, rapid reflexes, increased blood pressure, heart rate, and temperatures, impaired motor skills and coordination, dilated pupils, nausea and sometimes seizers.
Often times, drugs are used to alter the state of mind of the victim of the date rape. Aside from the encouraged or almost forced intake of excessive alcohol, the most common drugs used are Rohypnol, Gamma Hydroxy Butyrate (GHB), and Ketamine Hydrochloride, these drugs referred to by a number of names, including “ActiveSex,” “Roofies,” “Ruffies,” “Roche,” “R-2,” “Rib,” and “Rope.” These drugs, commonly called date rape drugs, act very quickly and are odorless and tasteless, making them very difficult to detect when mixed in drinks or with other drugs. Some are able to render the victim nearly unconscious and greatly hinder memory, yet still leave the victim with enough consciousness that they can be responsive and can seem to others to not be under any seriously dangerous intoxication. However, in reality, the victim will become a passive participant, essentially defenseless but still able to play a role in what is happening in the environment. Also, the drugs will leave the body within 72 hours of ingestion and are not found in any routine toxicology screen or blood test so it is very difficult to determine whether or not the drugs have been used in a rape case unless the victim goes to the authorities almost immediately after the incident has occurred and explains the symptoms that they experienced that were likely to be caused by some type of drug that they did not knowingly take.
