Kaitlyn was having a rough morning for a Friday. She couldn’t find her favorite shirt with an abstract fox printed on the front. “I could have sworn I put in on the chair last night.” She huffed as she frantically looked under the bed. She stood up to survey her once clean bedroom, now in need of tornado disaster relief aid, and became more agitated. Suddenly, she saw a piece of blue fabric hiding between her mattresses. “How in the world did it get there?” she muttered to her pet fox Willow. Once dressed, Kaitlyn headed out the door to go to class.
She hopped in her car, a cute little blue bug, and drove off. It was almost summertime, so she had her windows rolled down and let her black and blue hair swing about in the wind. What most people

She managed to get to work at 2:15, which allotted 15 minutes to play with the new kittens that just arrived yesterday at the pet shop. “If only Willow wasn’t so jealous, I would be able to bring one of you home!” Kaitlyn mumbled into the soft fur of the white kitten she was holding. It stared at her with its big blue eyes, almost as if to say take me home. She sighed, put the kitten back with its litter mates and began to work. Her manager, Charlie, asked her to grab some more kitten chow from the back as the shelves were looking a little empty. Kaitlyn went into the back to grab some as the door chimes sang to signal someone was walking in the door. “I’ve got it” said Charlie as she turned towards the front of the …show more content…
Kathryn was looking at the kittens when she asked if they were still hiring. She didn’t see the look of extreme confusion and disbelief on the store owner/manager’s face. Luckily, Charlie recovered very quickly and asked for her qualifications and past experience. Kathryn answered her questions and even gave some advice on how to properly protect their lizards in their aquariums. Charlie decided she would hire this young girl right on the spot for two reasons; one was she couldn’t resist getting to know this young girl, and two she couldn’t wait to see Kaitlyn’ s face once she met
Our backs hunched over as we started lifting sustainable sandbags with our drained muscular arms onto a dark wooden shelf. The scorching sun heated up the unswept metal fence behind us. Our feet were burning as we stood on the blistering concrete floor. We were sweating from every inch of our dried out body’s. Looking around the isolated area the smell of freshly cut grass starts to fill up in the atmosphere. The crinkled brown autumn leaves abandoned the thin branches sticking out from the ancient oak tree stood in front of us. A mysterious slim figure approached us from the distance. As the strange shadow got closer to me I could see a velvet red knee high dress blowing in the wind; bright red lipstick on a slim face, it became clear to me that it was Curley’s wife! Her devilish eyes looked deep into our sole as she stroked silky, exotic hair with her perfectly painted, red finger nails. “Hey boys” she called. I looked away with no interest; Lennie followed my lead. Her face went from a cheery smile to a sulky frown and she bashfully strolled
As a young child in elementary school, I struggled in the regular classes of language arts and math, and this caused my teachers to put me into Special Education. I recall hearing the regular students call me “stupid” all the time behind my back. When I had my regular classes in Social Studies or Science none of the other students wanted to be my partner in the group projects. I felt like an outcast, and my self-confidence was exceedingly low. However, I knew that I was not the smartest kid, but I was a hard worker. I begged my mom to help me convince the teachers to allow me to to join the regular classes in the 5th grade. Fortunately, my teachers agreed, and in my regular language arts class I was motivated to prove to my teachers, my classmates,
A bus carrying several clinical students from the local college pulls up in front of the nursing home. The students begin to unload some boxes which contain puppies and kittens ranging in age from three to six months. Once inside, the students begin to pass the puppies and kittens out to the patients that are waiting expectantly in the recreation room. Some patients are alone, some are in groups, but all are delighted to see the animals arrive. As the animals are being passed out, the patients begin smiling, laughing, and talking to the animals. They stroke their coats, play with them, and feed them snacks that they have saved for this occasion. While the patients are interacting with other students and staff, two of the students begin making notes on the activities that are taking place in the room. The patients, staff, and students are clearly enjoying themselves, but there are greater benefits to be found here.
Summer had just begun; we were enjoying our first few stress free weeks of summer, speaking of summer assignments we received and vacations that were going to be had. It must’ve been at least two in the afternoon since I never get up before noon during the months I have off from my education, but my best friend and I had been hanging out for a while leading up to the trip to Dunkin’ Donuts. We were just minding our own business when abruptly, my friend quivered in her seat, her eyes wide with fright.

Although this experience left Donna fearful of large dogs, 10 months later as Donna and Ramona are walking in the park they come across a Pitbull mix puppy that has been left for dead in the bushes. Donna and Ramona took the puppy to the Guilford County animal shelter in Greensboro, North Carolina. The puppy had severe second and third-degree burns over most of her body; her ears were burned off, and she had a broken jaw and teeth. Initially, they were going to euthanize the puppy; however, when Donna went in to say goodbye, the puppy licked her hand and this melted her heart. The vet had informed Donna that it would cost $17,000 for the puppy’s care; nevertheless, Donna found a way to acquire the funds. Donna and Ramona went on the evening news with the story and photos of the puppy. When the news anchor asked Donna the puppy’s name, she replied, “Her name is Susie.” Shortly thereafter funds came rolling into the animal shelter for Susie’s Miracle

All of the students started walking toward the east field where the lockers were located. Of course Stephanie S. Stufflebeam was near the mermaid fountain closest to Elizabeth’s locker. Stephanie’s honey yellow hair was straightened, her green eyes stared Elizabeth down like a hawk, and she wore a hot pink tube top with a short, short skirt. When Elizabeth came into ear range, Stephanie grabbed a megaphone and shouted: “ Hey, loser! A little birdie told me that your mom got a new job! How much does it pay?” She looked at me hard then everyone else, “what do you all think?”. Her best friend Paige shouted “I bet that stupid, little restaurant that no one goes to and where no one gets paid very much, I mean look at those jeans!”. Everyone started
The children were hungry so, Miss Orbach allowed Drew and Benjamin to go in the kitchen and warm up in the microwaveable chili and bread for the family to have a little snack before bedtime. Benjamin and Drew do not yell, fight or scream at each other while they were in the kitchen. They worked as a team. The only issue they had was when Logan tried to take the whole bowl of Chili and keep it for himself . Miss Orbach quickly resolve issue by removing the Chili bowl until everyone calmed down. When the all sit down at the table she placed the bowl in the middle of the table where everyone could reach it. At the end of the night it was brought to my attention, Miss Orbach had given away a cat. She now has two to give
The girl took great pride in the fact that she helped her father with the chores on the farm. Her main chore was to water the foxes. Laird would help with a small watering can though he would usually spill most of his water. The girl would also help her father when he would cut the long grass around the fox pens. He would cut it and she would rake it up. He would then throw the grass on top of the pens to keep the sun off of the foxes. The entire fox pen was well thought out and well made. The foxes were fed horsemeat, which could be bought very cheap. When a farmer had a dying horse her father would pay for the horse and slaughter it. Her father was very ingenious with his fox farm and the girl was obviously impressed. She was proud to work with her father. One time while her father was talking to a salesman he said, “Like you to meet my new hired man.” That comment made her so happy, only to have the salesman reply that he thought it was only a girl.
Kimberley Barnes reports. The door slams closed. After an unruly ten hour shift, Fiona puts on another work uniform to attend her next job. Hopefully she will earn enough for groceries next week, as she plans what shifts she has
So far it had seemed like a productive day, Talia had made her final move to Starling City from the next city over, River View, for a job interview and a chance at a new life. However, it wasn’t just a job interview; it was for a placement at Queen Industries. Well, the placement wasn’t as one would think. The job advertised was for an assistant. Talia had been in several admin roles for several years on and off. It was something that would have been all too easy; even if it was for a position for Oliver Queen’s assistant. Talia had to practically barge her way into the office for the interview. Despite being head hunted for the position, it seemed they were open to applications. As soon as Talia was filled in on her official role she learned that she had been specifically picked after being watched for some time, the others were simply making it seem real.
When I arrived to Starkfield I didn’t really know what to expect but I felt good knowing Zeena wanted me to help around the house. I didn’t expect Starkfield to be so cold when I got off the train I felt very sick but I didn’t want to show it because I didn’t want to cause any extra work for Zeena or Ethan. I didn’t expect ethan to look as he did, I thought he looked older but he didn’t look as old. I didn’t know his leg was that bad I thought it was a slight injury until I saw him walking up to me. When I arrived home I felt good seeing Zeena she gave me a hug and showed the room that belonged to Ethan’s mom which now belonged to me. The ride from home was very long, I just wanted some rest because I also started to feel really ill. The day
Despite the seemingly perpetual heat, work had been alright so far. Customers had an average amount of patience and tips were (shockingly) better than average for a Tuesday night — and it certainly helped the weather had cooled from a sweltering ninety-five to a much more manageable seventy-eight. It was the first time in over a week Jonah would be leaving work in a decent mood — but it wouldn’t stop the overwhelming weariness creeping behind his eyelids. And tonight? God, he had a paper to do tonight. Something he couldn’t just bullshit forty-five minutes before it was due. And that meant there was only one option — paying the coffee shop across the street from Pizza Hut a visit.
We slowly, yet gently opened the door to the closet and swiftly moved out of the way. Margot collapsed onto the floor. She was shaking. Gasping for air.
