Starting the fifth week of my internship I feel as though I have grown a lot in my internship position as well as starting to make the connections of how my coursework at Johnson and Wales University is preparing me for my future endeavors. Being able to see my hard work payoff is satisfying, but I am also realizing where I am missing skills and knowledge and how I can better tailor my remaining time at Johnson and Wales to better prepare myself after I graduate.
Taking classes in person with my professors I think have been one of the most beneficial aspects for my internship. Being able to communicate with my professors in person has taught me how to interact with authority figures. When in high school your teachers are constantly there and available at any hour of the

Caroline and I have both work in the same office, but our schedules for meetings and task are different at times. This sometimes puts us at different locations and working on different things. Though she is constantly encouraging me to come to her whenever I need information, help, or clarification, I have learned to come with all my questions wrote-down, and any materials I need her approval or help on readily available, maximizing my time. During my 2017-18 winter term at JWU I was taking the Legal Environment of Business I, I found this course rather hard, therefore I needed extra help. To get help from my professor I had to schedule a time to meet with him that worked for both our schedules. Before this meeting I had prepared myself by outlining the chapters and coming with a list of questions. By having my materials prepared he was able to clarify the coursework in about 15 minutes out of the half hour we scheduled. I have also had the same results with clients of the division after I schedule meeting with them to discuss contracts and events, this success can be attributed to being prepared before going into the meeting. The same law class as before
This past summer, when I lived and worked in Washington, DC—first as a U.S. Senate Page and then as a Congressional Intern—I gained invaluable experience and insight to the American political system. It is amazing how much one can learn from simply overhearing the conversations of Members of Congress on a daily basis. Working on the floor of the Senate and then in the back rooms of a Congressional office were two entirely different experiences, each teaching me in a distinctive way about how our political system functions. While I most definitely became aware of how bureaucratic and slow our democratic system can be, I also discovered that with a commitment to unity and prosperity for the common good, great feats are attainable through government.
I felt very nervous prior to the session beginning. I get anxious speaking in front of groups of people, and I was fearful I would say the wrong thing, or not follow the Solution-Focused plan correctly. I was also thinking about what may happen and how the clients would react, and what they would say as the conversation progressed. However, after a few minutes, I started to feel more relaxed, and forgot about the classroom full of people who were watching me. I started to feel like I was in a real session with real clients, and my gut feelings just started to take over my nervousness.
A pre-practicum internship can be an extremely beneficial off campus endeavor that one can experience prior to the actual internship. The central rationale of pre-practicum is to add meaning to the educational undertakings of the student. Consequently, it facilitates tangible practices that embolden the association of theory and method. Pre-practicum affords an experiential gathering opportunity for students to relate ideas, information, and services gained in real situations to classroom discussion. It also allows students to assess the personal suitability of a prospective career choice and to develop an awareness of community services, economic underpinnings,
Internships provide students with opportunities to apply theoretical and basic knowledge gained in the classroom. During the field placement period, the agency supervisor becomes the primary teacher, aside from the clients, in the student's day-to-day learning. The supervisor is responsible for coordinates the student's overall experience by helping the student integrate the various pieces of the Field Internship. However, to make the placement, a positive experience supervisor need to be aware of student’s strengths, and learning needs to match assignments accordingly.
By completing so many hours and being at various locations, I made many business contacts that will last me a lifetime. Each and every physical therapy setting I experienced was different, which gave me many viewpoints of the physical therapy career. The physical therapists and physical therapy assistants I met offered a new perspective into their career and daily life, which helped me decide on the direction I want to take my career. I believe that without going to my internships, I would not know that I want to work in sports medicine or that I do not want to work in a hospital setting. Another positive from my internship experiences is that I have had a few job offers even though I still have three years of graduate school to
2015 was a real turning point in my high school career. I finally started working harder in school and started to enjoy it more. Although the enjoyment came right back down, it was still fun while it lasted. My writing however, has greatly changed. SAT #2 was where I really started having fun. “For Susan was a sinner. She smoked Crack Cocaine every day!” (SAT #2, Nowak) That was the SAT journal that made me realize that writing didn't have to be a chore. However the second half of the year was a little different. I think I started to grow lazy. My previously fine-tuned papers were now pretty much rants. “Pink is used anywhere from romantic nonsense to childish obsessions.” (Gatsby Color Analysis, Nowak) For my Gatsby analysis, my writing was all over the place and covered a wide range of topics. Unfortunately it made it sound pretty bad. I am starting to get better and regularly
First, I would like to thank the Louie F. Cox Memorial AK Steel Foundation and the Middletown Community Foundation for their continued support as I pursue my education. My first year at Case Western Reserve University has been incredible and I found many opportunities to grow academically, spiritually, and socially. During my first few weeks on campus, I joined the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and also earned a seat on the executive board as membership chair. NSBE has allowed me to enhance my networking skills, advocate for diversity, and engage with the campus community. I also mentored high school students through the NSBE Jr. program and volunteered at engineering-themed events throughout the greater Cleveland area. A major highlight of this year was attending the National NSBE Convention in Kansas City, MO and meeting Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. His advice on finding a career in Silicon Valley was especially helpful, as I declared my academic path: a double major in computer science and business management (with a specialization in supply chain management) and a minor in data science.
The way of life in this modern society has developed itself over hundreds of years. Still, however changed, the values of today's society remain from the period of Regency England. Regency England, being the super power of the world in the 18th century, imposed the morals and ethics upon the world as they did their own country, where people were expected to abide by. Jane Austen illustrates the values of this prejudiced society through Pride and Prejudice, which involved the role of women as a major, governing over their marriages for economic sustainability and their lack of authority. Austen's controversial novel was adapted into a feature film which presented the real and gritty society as how it truly was during the time of Regency England; before the adaptation was released, Austen's work was paralleled in 20th century India as the transformation, Bride and Prejudice. These films realise for their audience the significance of Regency England to the forming of modern society's own values, and how it became the foundation of such principles with their own being the role of women.
This reflection paper is divided into five main sections. The first section gives a general introduction of internship that I was doing during my internship period. The second section provides an overview of the internship practice and tasks that I was assigned to do. The third section is about the office technologies I used during the internship. The fourth section is about the benefits of the RCBC Paralegal Program courses taken as applied to the work that I performed. The final section is devoted to the knowledge and experience that I gained during the course of internship.
The internship that I acquired during the summer of 2010 at the Greenwood Sports and Industrial Rehabilitation Center (GSIRC), allowed me to gain an immeasurable amount of experience during my tenure at this facility. Within this period, the exposure to new concepts within the physical therapy industry allowed me to observe and work hands on with patients of all ages and disabilities that exposed me to various treatment plans and programs to restore client’s mobility. The essential Physical Education and Exercise Science (PEES) courses taken at Lander University were beneficial to my academic knowledgebase, which prepared me and developed me for the opportunity within the physical therapy discipline. Working as an intern taught me the responsibility of time management and working within a lean schedule that allow me to further develop my skill set. This reflection paper will illustrate my classroom experience, internship experience, and learning experience.
An internship is a formal program to provide practical experience for beginners in an occupation or profession. By this point in my internship I am more than half way through it and taking on more and more responsibilities and positions as I go along.
Finding the assistance needed for my math work definitely poses a challenge if the professor does not hold office hours because of their position. In high school, office hours play a huge role in the academic success of students since we depend on that time to be able to understand or learn more about the academic topic. Although I rarely take the time to attend office hours (since I participate in extracurriculars), I understand the importance of that time, and I attend when it is necessary. However, I am aware of other resources that are available to me if office hours are not available to me. It is necessary to note, however, that not every source of assistance will function if other factors get in the way of using that assistance. For that reason, I think it is important that students take the necessary steps to identify which resource will support them the most.
During the course of time, I’ve learned many useful things that have led me to be the person I want to be today. From college classes to work experiences, I now have the ability to exceed upon internship experiences that can shape my perspective on life. The purpose of this paper is to summarize, reflect, analyze, and synthesize on my internship experience at the Children’s Home of Reading-Acute Partial Hospitalization Program.
My internship experience this semester was interesting. I interned at ESH/MESH with Bridgeway. My Supervisor was Emilie Banz. I didn’t do much but I did learn a lot from this experience. I met a lot of great people and watch PsyR in action. I met a couple of individuals who were really cool. My experience this semester has prepared me for the next.
This is a matter of pleasure for me to acknowledge my deep sense of gratitude to University Sains of Malaysia for giving me an opportunity to explore my abilities via this internship programme. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my academic supervisor, Dr. Amirul Shah for their valuable guidance and advice in completing this internship.
