All seniors at Summit Academy High School are required to job shadow a professional in a career path of interest to the student. Since I am interested in the business field, I decided to job shadow Ms. Bynum who works as a project manager at the EPA. After our job shadowing experience, we were asked to send a polite thank you note to our host. Each student was provided with a template as a suggestion for what to say, however, you did not have to follow the template. I decided to write my own thank you letter so I could personalize it. In my letter, I was careful to mention specific advice Ms. Bynum gave me. I wanted to ensure she knew her words were taken to heart and I truly did appreciate her help.
Writing the thank you letter was
a good reminder of how important just a simple note can be. Even if you already thanked them in person, a letter helps remind the receiver of your gratitude. Especially when it comes to meaningful things, a heartfelt and personalized note can be cherished for many years. In this case, my letter was more professional, but it was still a helpful reminder of my appreciation. Ms. Bynum took a lot of time out of her day to speak to me, so it was no problem to spend a few minutes to write her a thank you letter. I really liked this assignment as thank you letters are very prevalent in many people's careers. This was a great reminder of the need for thank you letters, as well as a great chance to practice writing them.

I selected to job shadow my mom actually because I couldn’t find anyone to shadow in the career that I wanted, so my only other choice was to do my mom. I wasn’t really too interested in doing that job at first, but that’s what I needed to do. I spent my day watching and helping my mom checking out stock systems and how it works. I was also able to use the office equipment. I wore nice black pants with a nice sweater. We left the building for lunch, and went somewhere else to eat, like my mom does a lot of the time. During the interview, I asked her the questions, and she answered, explaining as she went along, and I was not able to catch it all. So I learned a whole lot about the job by doing the interview. I left at about 2:00 to 3:00 (I am not too sure exactly when) because my mom had some important work she needed to do, that I really couldn’t help with. My favorite experience that day was actually finding out how stocks work, saving money, and information like that.
I am elated to celebrate Texas Independence Day by preparing my response to your call for the Project Director who will help make your beautiful dream a tangible reality, here in the heart of Texas. With broad and deep experience in bringing visions to life through my unique ability to direct the path of projects, I am confident that my record of delivering award-winning results will be well worth your time to review. After spending the last year patiently watching for a visionary project to appear that matches my own discerning criteria, I believe it has finally appeared in the form of the Pecan Street Project.
Thank you for allowing my group and I to job shadow you on Wednesday, November 8th. I understand that job shadowing took time out of you and the other people who came that day, which makes me very grateful to have that experience under my belt. Getting the experience to meet all the people to learn about the different types of law enforcement careers was amazing; I really got to have an understanding for the career choice I want and other career choices I could have that still is involved in law enforcement. All the people that came their experience and knowledge was an amazing experience because I got to learn and come to know things that I didn’t know when I first came that will influence my life forever. Altogether, it was an amazing experience
I wanted to thank Ms. Geary for reminding me how much writing can do for me. It helped me realize that writing isn’t so horrible but it is just hard work. My writing skills have improved due to this class and all Ms. Geary had taught me. She made class fun with her inflections and just the way she says everything, her personality definitely showed through. I looked forward to class but never the homework. Finally after reading over my final drafts of: My Past as a Writer, Problematic Essay and my Exploratory Research Paper I realize that I have dramatically improved my writing skills in every draft thanks to revisions and some positive criticism for Ms. Geary. I think I am now ready to take on the next step in the English world.
As I joined the HCT I experienced many situations that improved my character and polished my skills. First as in information I learned what are the priorities and the elements that should be included in a professional email to my teachers or colleagues it shows me the differences between the regular emails that I would send to my friend and emails that I would send to a teacher. Greeting the teacher politely by name and title, state the subject line of the email by writing the purpose of it, choosing words and explain briefly why am I sending this email is not less important because it might reduce the politeness toward the reserver of the email in other ...
I thank you for your commitment and patience. You’ve watched me stumble at times in my new role and I’m especially thankful for those who have spoken up and given me heartfelt advice
I received a package in the mail unexpectedly. I didn’t recognized the sender address, at all. I opened up the package, to find drawings with thank you notes from a 3rd grade class taught by @mohayanie. Countless parents, teachers, mentors, are a model for children. When you see a veteran, simply say, “Thank you.” Our kids learn from us. Talk with them about why you say thank you to the military members past and present at the airport, grocery store, etc. It is such a simple act of gratitude, but it means a lot to us veterans. She reminded all of the kids at school that veterans are everywhere. They are our teachers, first responders, postal workers, doctors, and store clerks. Moreover, we can thank them personally on Veterans Day and every
My job shadowing experience as a whole is an experience I will never forgot. I did my job shadowing at Sliver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Illinois. I did my job shadowing in the month of March of two-thousand sixteen. On the day that I did job shadowing, after we got the hospital we got are assignments, I got assigned to E.R. also known as the emergency room where I was put in with the nurses to help them to observe and help them take of patients. We ended up doing a lot and I gained a lot from my job shadowing experience. For example one thing that I learned is that I got shown of a lot of different medical equipment and what is does. Also I learned how properly start an I.V. also called Intravenous therapy. There also was some challenging
For my leadership paper I chose to shadow Sean Ennist, the Operating Room Director of Premier Bone and Joint Center, Laramie. Sean is an RNFA, so he often scrubs into surgery, but the first day I shadowed him he was filling in for a circulator. Seeing him a role that he was not as confident in made him more vulnerable, honest, and easier to connect with. This encounter happened on my very first day of senior capstone, so it was a great start. Within seconds of knowing he was a leader, I knew I wanted to shadow him. Sean is someone, even in a vulnerable state, that everyone in the operating room and facility respects.
The next tip is “give honest and sincere appreciation.” A recurring theme in this book, is that people want to feel like they are important. There is a driver forcing you to do everything in life. For example, as a chairperson of the Business Week publicity committee, I am working hard to promote the Business Week activities and increase attendance using creative tactics. When people show up to events because of a promotion I created, it makes me feel important and gives me a sense of fulfillment. Such is the case when dealing with others. If they know they are appreciated, they will feel important and will continue doing a good job in the future.
However the significance, and the confidence that I have managed to maintain as a stylist and a member of my community, I am certain that I could contribute very positively in the human services field. I am comfortable around the public and have been a shoulder “to cry on” for years. I try to practice professionalism as expected and develop relationships that I truly appreciate. I am hopeful and anticipate that things will go well for me, my fellow students and with our future clients.
...that was the best I could mange at the time. She would like to try to teach me how to not procrastinate but I don’t think that will ever happen. There is no fun in writing anything unless you are doing it last minute at twelve in the morning.

Prior to the relationship building assignments, I had never written a professional thank you note to a professor or place of business. I had a pen pal throughout middle school and also wrote notes to teachers that I had built a relationship with in high school, but neither were to the same degree of professionalism as I learned to utilize in this course. My notes mainly focused on updates of how I was, how my family was, and maybe a few questions to cap off the note.
