On November 26, 2013, Mrs. Marlise Munoz was found by her husband, Erick Munoz unconscious on the family’s kitchen floor. Marlise Munoz was 14 weeks pregnant at the time she was pronounced brain dead by the doctors at John Peter Smith hospital in Texas. Both Mrs. Munoz and her husband Erick Munoz were EMTs and talked about their wishes should they become ill in the future. Both expressed the desire not to be placed on life support. With no formal written advanced directive, Erick Munoz was the surrogate for his wife. Marlise’s family continued to side with the Erick during this most difficult time.

On October 13th I was fortunate enough to be able to interview Sandi Lopez. Lopez is from Grand Island, Nebraska and has also lived in Kansas for a few years. At first she was not quite sure on what to do with her career pathway. She wanted a job where she could be able to help others and her community. Lopez says that having many of her friends being police officers is what got her more into law enforcement. She says hanging out around her friends telling her stories about being officers made her really want to be a part of the law enforcement department. However, she says it was a very hard decision to make knowing the fact that she would have to work long hours and being with her family was very important to her. In the end, she decided
DSS received a report of physical abuse, physical neglect and substantial risk of physical abuse on March 3, 2017 alleging there is chaos in the home. After returning with his brothers from their cousin’s house, the boys had to go to bed. The reporter stated that Xzavia banged on his mother’s bedroom door on three separate occasions wanting something to eat. The first time he was told to go back to bed and a popping noise was heard. The second time Ms. Kimberly Dawkins grabbed Xzavia by the head, shook him little and told him to go back to bed. The third time Ms. Dawkins grabbed Xzavia, threw him on the bed, got a gun, held him down and pointed it at him. Reporter states there was no clip in the gun. Ms. Dawkins was reported being upset and it was reported that she left the home for twenty minutes but came back. It was reported that while Ms. Dawkins was gone, Xzavia was very upset and he was crying and Tyzhaun stared punching holes in the wall. It was reported that Xzavia says he wanted to die and that Atmorris went and got a knife, stated to Xzavia, “You want to die?”, here’s the knife and the two older brothers, Tyzhaun and Atmorris left the house and Xzavia chased them. Being a family that immigrated to the United States, they are managing many problems within the family that is ranging from disability, substance abuse, and immigration. This paper is a case analysis of each particular family member in the Sanchez family. Each family member will be analyzed and issues will be prioritized. Also, an intervention or a clinical resolution will be introduced to the best of the writer’s knowledge. Lastly, this writer will reflect on herself to determine her level of empathy and sympathy towards each family in the Sanchez family. Sonia Romero was born in 1980 in Los Angeles and is the granddaughter of the founders of the Craft and Folk Art museum in Los Angeles and daughter of two artists, Nancy and Frank Romero. According to the reporting party (RP) former foster parents David Abney and Mark Abeyta placed locks and alarms on the doors of the foster children. The foster children Estela Anaya- Raygoza age 8 and Crystalbella Anaya-Raygoza age 7 displayed frequent destructive behaviors such as exposing themselves. In addition foster child Crystalbella was identified as having severe tantrums which prompted the locks and alarms. The RP stated it was recommended by the children's therapist along with the children's social worker that the door locks and alarms
Gloria Canseco is currently working at The San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic. However, before she came to San Antonio she was living in Laredo, Texas. She had received a bachelor’s in art history and was volunteering at The Sister Saint Missionary. After, sometime there the nuns asked her if she would like to be the development officer for their nonprofit. When they first asked Mrs. Canseco to be the development officer she was not sure if she actually want it to do it. She told the nuns that she will be on probation period for six months with them to see if she was any good at it. Later on she came to love it. What helped her be excellent at her job was that she knew her community well and who to go too.

Valentina Alvarez Tafur is a young girl who has recently turned 5 years’ old in February. She is a very energetic child who loves to color and play with her family. Even though sometimes she tends to hide the rules her parents have she is very obedient. Valentina tends to be very direct about the activities she would like to do when given the opportunity. The observation environment was the house of her grandparents while she interacts with her cousin and uncle. She demonstrates to have physical, emotional and cognitive skills while the observation was in progress.
