Do you believe that there is true love between Peeta and Katniss in The Hunger Games, or do you believe they only did it for Sponsors?
Yes, false love can make people like others because society is obsessed with loving love. Love was based on Survival and not true love. Humans need to feel wanted in order to survive even if that means lying about love. Katniss and Peeta only showed love in the Hunger Games for their sponsors. The day of the reaping Katniss little sister Prim had got chosen for District Twelves 74th annual girl Hunger Game, but Katniss had volunteered as tribute. Peeta had looked at Katniss and tried to grab her hand but Katniss had snatched away and that’s when Peeta said “ Just do it the audience will love it and it will get us sponsors”
So Katniss had done it but she did not look happy about it at all, but she knew she had to win this for her little sister Prim. Peeta had started to show signs that he really loved Katniss, but Katniss didn’t love him she loved Gale. She knew that people would want a good love show though so she just played a long. When Peeta had announced to everyone that Katniss was the girl he loved Katniss got mad. Peeta may have really loved her, but Katniss did not feel the same. Once they had gotten into the actual Hunger Games they had split up like they didn’t know each other, but towards the end they had worked together to win. Peeta had saved Katniss life at times and Katniss had saved Peeta’s life at times, but they all just did it to win together and get more people to like their District. There was originally only supposed to be one winner, but towards the middle they announced that two people from the same district could win.
