Many people today own a cell phone and are very familiar with talking, texting, video chatting, etc. Today, texting is beginning to take away from normal social skills such as eye contact and ability to create small talk. This will not serve people, especially the kids who are being affected most, well in the real world. The biggest problem lying within this faster communication method is that the conversations are rarely deep over text, and lacking face to face communication skills is eliminating the opportunity for deep conversation.

Texting involves many different aspects of writing, in a sense it can be classified as a new style of talking. Most people take no interest in capitalization or punctuation while sending a text message. Grammar is another factor that is commonly blown off over text.
