Investigation on Cargo Introduction In this investigation I will be finding out how many labels are on an exposed side of a 3x3x3 cube when 27 small cubes are put together to make the large 3x3x3 cube. Method I will first start to count the number of small cubes out of the 27; have no labels, 1 label, 2 labels and 3 labels. Once I have done this I will the do the same for a 4x4x4 cube, 5x5x5 cube and finally a 6x6x6 cube and see if I can find a pattern. When I have found a pattern I will try to work out a formula and test if it works. 4x4x4 [IMAGE] [IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE] [IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE] 3x3x3 [IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE] [IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE] Key [IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE] [IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE] 3 labels [IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE]2 labels [IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE] 1 label [IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE]No labels [IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE] 6x6x6 [IMAGE] [IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE] [IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE][IMAGE] 5x5x5 [IMAGE] [IMAGE] [IMAGE] [IMAGE]

One design that we discussed consists of a tower with a rectangular base, two layers of rectangular prisms atop that base, and a pentagonal prism on the top of the structure. This design would provide the necessary support at the base and is also easy to make in twenty minutes. However, it would be lacking in height if we were to make it to the second round of the contest. Nonetheless, this design is self-standing, strong enough ...

Multiply the height of the tissue box by the width after adding one-quarter inch for the seams. Measure the top of your box and obtain the width and the height. Add one quarter inch to each measurement and then multiple them together. Add the measurement of your two results together. This is the total amount of fabric you need for the project. Double this amount to make sure there is enough fabric.
The commercial cube is composed of 26 visible pieces and one central core. These two distinct components of the Rubik’s cube are what maintain the shape of the Rubik’s cube. The shape of the core can be visualized as a central, three-axis spindle with six attached octagons, one on each face of the cube. These are referred to as octagonal extensions and are what allow the free movement and rotation of the cube.

I am using a box because it does not have a specific “value” but it is more of a holding place for new elements. In cell (B, 4), I placed an “a” because this represe...

The Intermodal Shipping Container is a large steel box that was created to transport goods by train, truck, or ship for around the last 50 years. The pioneer of this revolutionizing box goes is a man by the name of Malcom McLean who began his transportation interest with his trucking company (McLean Trucking) that he built into one of the nation’s largest. From there, he developed the steel container in 1956, which replaced the previous loading and unloading method known as the “Break Bulk Method.” The Break Bulk Method was a much less efficient method where all goods are loaded individually using bags, boxes, drums, crates, or barrels instead of unified large containers. This method definitely being much more time consuming and risky with respect to increased theft or damage.
