I had a scheduled interview with Ms. Jessica Robinson, for the first time on her own on April 30, 2015 and 2:30 pm. The meeting was held in my office located at the U.S Probation and Pretrial Service. I asked for verification on her name before conducting the assessment and asked if she was okay with the idea of me taking notes during the session. I reassured her that is her choice to accept this choice regardless if she has a record with the court or not. She agrees to the concept and I explain the rules of confidentiality to her and this agency being that it is with a trial. In the beginning of our meeting Ms. Jessica Robinson said she was charged with 2 counts from using altering the use of checks. When I spoke to Ms. Robinson she specified that did not know if check would be processed. She has been on probation two different times: 10 months (occurred about 3 years ago) and 10 days ago (the cause of her losing her job). She states that she is currently living with her grandmother who is in her mid-70. …show more content…

As I sat down with Jordan Fisher, on April 30th, we looked out the window to a gloomy, rainy day. It was wet and nasty day, but Jordan agreed to sit down with me to discuss his position as an HR officer. Jordan started with the Federal Government, 30 years ago at the age of 20. Now 50 Jordan is looking forward to retiring with his wife, stating “I enjoy it here, I really do—but I can’t wait to retire.” While Jordan plans to work for one more year before retiring, the knowledge and experience that he has gained from the position will never leave him. Jordan has been a very successful H.R. official because he has integrity, used effective communication and proper documentation.
For that, I interviewed my boss, Karen. I see her almost every work day but there were still many things I wanted to ask her about. I knew that she had been married to a man before she met her wife, and that she still had his last name even after separating and remarrying. I also knew that her father was a Methodist minister and performed her marriage ceremony back when he could’ve gotten in a lot of hot water for doing so. I knew that she was adopted, too. But the rest of her life, the in-between moments, were still a mystery to me. So, I really enjoyed that interview. As you can tell from the transcription, we laughed a lot and got along well. I think she felt comfortable and she told me later that she had enjoyed talking with me. I also came more prepared and with more questions. It was hard to do my initial research on my student interviewee because there wasn’t a lot of prior information that I could find about her. With Karen, I not only had my own prior information, but she is also easily found on the internet. A lot of that has to do with her age and the businesses she has been involved

For my interview, I spoke with a police officer whose name I was told not to reveal. We talked about who the informants are, the use of informants, type of informants, and what they stand for.
We were taken directly to the prison of London, and were told that our court hearing will take place in a week. We couldn’t afford a legal advisor, so we planned on answering everyone by ourselves. A week passed by quickly, and we were off to the court. I was the first person to be questioned at the
Over the course of the semester, I feel that I have grown as a writer in many ways. When I came into the class, there were skills I had that I already excelled at. During my time in class, I have come to improve on those skills even more. Before I took this class I didn’t even realise what I was good at. This is the first class where I felt I received feedback on my writing that helped me to actually review my work in see what areas I lacked in and where I succeeded. Some of the skills I had shocked me as I didn’t think I had those capabilities in me.
Walk a mile in my shoes… See what I see, hear what I hear, feel what I feel… Then maybe you’ll understand why I do what I do (Jensen Communications, , 2015). This idiom means to me that you need to understand what someone else experiences in order to appreciate what it is they do. This paper will analyze my reflections from the manager interview conducted with Marselle Pruitt, Mgr. Revenue System Testing at FedEx TechConnect in her office on September, 24th 2015.
Throughout this semester, our class has read four powerful and influential pieces by James Baldwin, Gloria Anzaldua, Haunani-Kay Trask, and Nick Bear. The first piece we ever looked at was Baldwin’s “If Black English Isn’t a Language, Then Tell Me, What Is?” This was our first writing assignment, focusing on using generative writing to get our ideas from our heads onto the paper, to then develop later. However, we were still supposed to focus on the PAR criteria, in order to get an idea on how we would need to develop our writing and our own pieces to pass the class. One of the first mistakes I made as a writer was as follows: “I really enjoyed the latter quote, on page 263. The importance of this quote, to me anyway, is that in every language, there is a common language. You know, English, French, Spanish, Italian, that sort of thing.” (Barley, Ass. 3)
First, I asked her to explain her educational background. She has an Undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice. Next, I asked her if she had a graduate degree. She explained that she has a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology. Later, I asked her if she could explain why she decided to get a degree in Forensic Psychology. She explained that she really enjoyed learning more about the mind and being able to apply that knowledge to Forensics. Then, I asked her what is the name of her current position. She told me that she is currently a senior agent for parole and probation. I asked her how long as she held the current position. She mentioned that she has been holding that position for 4 years. I then asked her to explain her responsibilities and duties as a senior agent for parole and probation. She told me that her duties include effective community supervision of offenders placed on probation/parole this supervision process includes office and field contacts, court appearances, treatment referrals, drug testings, warrant and processing services, financial collection management, interviewing, counseling and investigation when required. Next, I asked her what is her what does she like the most about her job. She let me know that the thing that she likes most is the aspect of Public Safety. In addition, I asked what she dislikes about her job. She explained that one thing she dislikes is that as a probation agent, she is not
This video mock interview was a great experience. The questions were based on interview questions that a company can ask you and prepared you for a real interview. This mock interview was fun to do and taught me many lessons I can do in a real interview setting. To start off, I had to prepare for this mock interview. Some things I considered when preparing was to firstly, look at the questions and briefly go over my answers for each question. After that, I had to wear my best attire and adjust my camera and lighting. Lastly, I had to remind myself with some tips when doing this interview. Such as, making sure there was no distraction around, controlling my speed and most importantly adjusting my body language. However, there are some things
As I reflect on my past assessment process, I realized how much my assessments have changed over the years. In my early years, I used tests for informational recall as my assessments. I felt these were appropriate guidelines in which I needed to follow in order to substantiate a student’s grade. Every assignment or tests was given a point value and then based on the amount of points, a grade was given. Every student’s assessment was exactly the same, and the assessments did not contain any subjectivity. I felt confident in giving the grade based on a valid point system. However reflecting back, I see that I did not include any performance-based assessments or individual learning styles in my early assessment. I also did not take into consideration the individual needs of my students. My assessment approach was awful. I am embarrassed that I use to assess students in this manner.
